It's been an eventful past couple of weeks, to say the least...

65" tv decided to give up the ghost after 12 years...Off to the city for a new tv...

Septic tank required immediate pumping...Did down 2' to expose access covers for kucker-sucker truck to do it's thing...

Just last night the water heater decided to release all 5o gallons on basement floor....Today, back to the city for a water heater...

Hopefully I won't catch a bolt of lightning in my pocket today....

Wow Terry! Sorry to hear. I've had 2 water heaters let go. It's the worst. Hope things are getting back to normal.

Water heater replacement isn't a big deal Tony....Hour ride to pick one up, hour getting paperwork / warranty completed, hour ride back home...And of course the piping didn't align, so more plumbing to do......4 hours from when we left here until we had hot water....

Still better than digging up the septic tank and having the kucker-sucker truck here for an emergency..

Hopefully Gary..Seeing as I have 4 medical procedures this month, I hope all bad luck / misfortunes are in my rear view mirror....
I'm throwing caution to the wind today and putting a rack of babyback ribs on the smoker, along with roasting corn on the cob over fire and hot coals...

It's a big deal for me, because beyond replacing or repairing a leaky faucet, I don't do plumbing. What I really don't like is having to clean up the water that the heater let go, especially if it let go over night and the water just keeps on coming. Yikes! 

No more worries about that. We replace our heating system in the summer of 2022 with an energy efficient gas-fired combo  boiler/instant water heater. We're now tankless.

I call a plumber when ours goes out.  We are on our 3rd one in 40 years, a pretty good run.  For what ever reason, ours is in the attic, right at the top of the pull-down stairs.  Too heavy to get the old one out and the new one up there for me.
Would much rather have one in the garage at about 3' elevation.

Due to hard water, my first 50 gal water heater crapped out after 7 years.

Second was a tankless mounted on the wall in the basement and it lasted about 24 years when the electronics went out.

Presently on my second tankless and hopefully it will out last me, cause I won't be able to replace it myself next time
