   The dark letters on the WHITE backround are difficult hard on old eyes. I liked the old setup-white letters black backround-way better. I also have a very SLIGHT idea of what it took to drag us into 2026 kickin and gruntin while updating our beloved computer glubhouse! And THANK YOU to Everyone involved with the transition!     NOT tryin to rain on anyones parade just MY observation of things! Y'all have a gooder day and Again-THANKS!! RIDE SAFE.

Beyond the default theme (The light background) I installed two optional darker themes users can choose for their own profile.

Go to your profile's "Look and Layout" then click CHANGE next to Current Theme

Scroll down on that page and there's also GreyedOut or Lunarfall you can try on, or "USE THIS THEME" if you want to switch to it for your account.

Most everything can be configured similar to the old board, you just have to poke around in settings to find your preferences.  The look and feel IMO is much improved once you get your preferred theme.  I would like to see the Simple Machines Forum logo removed from the header but it doesn't hurt anything.  I really like the Jump to: box at the bottom of the page although I'm not sure if it was on the old board or not but I've recently discovered it anyway. I really like the Like feature, really like the Alert notification popup while I'm online, really like the response time of the new system.  Overall I think the migration has been a huge success.

On my todo list, but I'm no artiste, and wanting something that looks good with all backgrounds/themes... But I agree, would look far more "Lived In" with a VRCC logo there...

There are some redirects that could be changed to https:// instead of http://  I've inadvertently logged in to the site unencrypted because I didn't notice I'd been redirected to a insecure site.

And the "News: If you're new to this message board, read THIS!" link at the top of the page could be changed to https:// also.

There's at least one other that redirected me to http:// from one of the alert notifications but I don't remember if it was from a popup notification or where... idk but if I find it I'll update.

I'd intentionally been leaving SSL optional until I was confident the Let's Encrypt certificate was in place and stable but seeing as it has been for a few days, I just flipped the switch to force everything on the forum (HOPEFULLY) to go to a SSL connection instead of it being optional...

Something else that might help you is at the top on the right of a thread that you pull up.  The little white box allows you to choose the font size of the thread you're reading.  It defaults to small but I haven't found whether I can change that default for every thread.

I have been using the Lunarfall theme but with that theme quotes get changed to white background making the quote almost impossible to read so I was trying Greyed out and I don't have the Simple Machines Forum header with this theme.

     My bookmarks came along with the transition. Top ledt under greyed out is my handle. Key om yer own handle and bookmarks well in my case showed up and near as I can surmise all of them are there!    Including the kill binladen game I bookmarked!    Anywho hopin it wurx out fer y'all!!    RIDE SAFE.
