Hi All,

new member, Bought bike last Tuesday and rode to new home 350 miles from the north, Lancaster England to Devon in the south west . lovely ride. Needs some TLC and a major service as it's been garaged for 9 of the last 15 years, but I am excited. It has been painted black from Yellow/cream 1998 so looking to restore original colour. I'm a sports tourer guy but my old joints starting to hurt but I didn't want to lose the performance and then I came across this Honda. Trying to work out how to upload a picture.

Is this the famous Chet that I've heard about? I showed up late to the Valkyrie party, but your legacy lives on.

The best way to post pictures here is by using a hosting site. Lots here use Postimages, but I had more problems than not when trying to use that site. I use www.imgur.com now. It's more that just hosting; there's a lot of stuff there that I don't use, but it's easy to upload pictures there, and then, here. When I upload a picture there, I can just click a link for posting on message boards (BBCode) and it's set up perfectly to "paste" into a post and it comes up smooth as silk.  Just like this:

Now you need to get the Blue Bruiser back.

After I finished the bike (only thing more I could have added was a turbo), one of my friends made me an offer I couldn't refuse and I ended up with an '08 Connie 14 ABS in trade. It changed hands at least once more, and the current owner(s) apparently know zilch point squat about the ECU or tuning the thing properly. The original Power Commander (which I developed maps for) failed and it was replaced by a local shop who apparently doesn't know anything about tuning either - or doesn't know how to get on Dynojet's site to get a set of base maps.

Sad, actually.

PM me and let's catch up.

New to the group. Picked-up a '98 last week and I'm loving this bike though need to do a few things to improve legroom and reach. I feel jammed-up on 'er a bit compared to my other bikes. I'm on a couple of other forums and this platform is, well, different.  Can't figure-out how to attach or embed a picture.

I'll post a pic when I can figure-out how.

Here's a video the PO made before I bought it.  Nice condition though I need to get rid of that Lowboy seat!  Lovin' it so far...

How to post pics on this page

This is an old discussion on posting from Photostash.  Photostash itself isn't required but the picture must be stored and available on the web.  There are several sites at which you can do this for no cost.  Once your pic is stored on the web the second part of the discussion is applicable.

Howdy, folks.  Bought a 2003 standard and I'm in love.  Saving my ducats for cobra 6-into-6, though wife will not be thrilled.  Baffles will stay in.

EDIT: Trying to post picture, let's see if I can figure out.

Our Kawasaki Z1's.

A little more info on our collection can be found here (some mileage figures have changed 'cause we Ride 'em.):

The Family Photo.  Front to back:
'73 Z1
'74 Z1-A
'74 Z1-A (slmjim bought this one new. Period custom.)
'75 Z1-B ( The Lovely Z1BEBE's personal Z-bike. Period custom.)
'75 Z1-B
This was taken a few years before we completed the basket case we named 'The Seven Year _itch' that completed the six bike production set.

The Seven Year _itch.   A basket case Project named so for obvious reason.  Note the capital 'P'.  A project doesn't qualify as a Project unless & until it draws blood.  Still, a fun project!  This was at the Barber VMD the first year we had it back on the road.  Working to make it an accurate Euro version.

Our '93 CB750 Nighthawks.  Currently showing 75,000+ miles each.  '93 was the only year the CB750 Nighthawks were produced in two colors.  The Lovely Z1BEBE thinks her Candy Metallic Red 'Hawk is prettier.  "Balderdash!!!" sez slmjim.  "My Candy Tahitian Blue 'Hawk is clearly more handsome!"
And so it goes...

Us on our '09 ST1300A somewhere south of Boulder, CO.

We don't have a pic of our new-to-us '99 Valkyrie Std. yet.  It's still in temporary storage.  No room in the shop.  Soon come!

Thanks for sharing the pics of your great collection Jim.   :cooldude:

I once had 5, but storage, maintenance and insurance became too much.  And I just couldn't do riding justice to them all.  The favorites (2 Valks) rose to the top, and the rest got sold, one by one, and to the first person that showed up to look each time.

Farside

Let me add mine after 10 years  So had to get rid of Blackie cause I bought a 3rd bike and the wife put her foot down.

Here is a picture that just came up on Facebook Memories of pics I posted in 2001 at Zainsville. It was my first year on my Valkyrie. I rode out there alone from Massachusetts. I had a great time and took a lot of pictures.

Sorry if this is the wrong thread. I'll post a pic of the Valk I had then. May another of the Valk I have now.

Have a great day and safe riding!

(I have no idea who these folks are, but please tag them or others name them if you see anyone you can recognize.)

After seven long years, the Valkyrie I sold to a very nice fella is coming home. I'm buying it back from him... here is the last picture I took of it...

Pretty cool you got it back Draeger :cooldude: When I sold my beautiful IS to a local guy I told him if he ever wants to sell it I'd like first shot at getting it back. That was 6 yrs ago and he still has it.  :coolsmiley:

calcruiser

here's where it all started.  bought 2 valkyries last year.  one is gone now.

calcruiser

then i put this together and asked $4000 for it.  i got one response in a month.  he offered me $2500. that got me thinking.

calcruiser

then i put this together and asked $2800.  sold in 2 days for asking price.  no interest when the bike had buffalo leather boss hard bags, a brand new ultimate big boy seat, chrome side covers and all plastics in mint condition, cyclear windshield, clean fenders with chrome tips and all paint matching, all mint condition chrome like crash bars and brackets.  i kept it all.  chrome pivot covers!  mine!!  new mindset with bikes now.  it ain't about the value in a bike, it's about the number.  when you get north of $3500 you're making it hard to sell, no matter what you got.
