I was out for a ride yesterday with Gary. We exited NH 101 east bound to ride Route 124 east to Jaffrey. It's a beautiful ride with great views of Mt. Monadnock along the route. Not too far into the ride there was a sign about a road closure. Turning around was not a good option. So we continued hoping for good detour signage. Thankfully, that's what we found. We followed the signs and traveled on narrow paved roads to where the detour put us on route 12 in Troy. We headed south on route 12 back to Massachusetts.

The reason for the road closure is that NH DOT is doing bridge work at Perkins Pond, which is a great location to view the Mountain. The work is expected to finish in late August.  8)

I have seen that area get flooded at times. It was a great ride thanks for leading it.

It's RUC (road under construction) season in New England..We see a lot of it on our excursions up here too Tony..
Glad you found an alternate route for you and Gary....
