Fell in the Stop and Shop parking lot, total Hip replacement needed and done. Busted up my bad knee also. The pain is unreal, my summer is over!  :'(   My balance is getting worse. You never know what's next in life, SO, enjoy while you can!

How Neck Issues Can Cause Dizziness and Balance Problems

""Have you ever felt dizzy, unsteady, or like your balance was "off," especially when turning your head or looking around quickly? While we often think of balance as being controlled by the inner ear or eyes, many people are surprised to learn that the neck plays a crucial role in helping us stay upright and feel oriented in space. There's a complex relationship between the muscles and joints in your neck, your nervous system, and your sense of balance and coordination. When something in this system goes wrong, it can lead to symptoms like dizziness, blurred vision, or difficulty concentrating. This is often referred to as cervicogenic dizziness, a type of dizziness that originates from dysfunction in the neck.""

Sorry to hear about your unfortunate accident. Sounds like a hell of a fall!  Hope you have an easy recovery. We all have to make the decision when to give up riding. It is a tough decision for us to make, you seem to have the decision made for you. It's tough but like you said, we don't know what gets thrown at us.

Wishing you a speedy recovery Steve...Taking a tumble at our age is never pretty...We all will have to make that decision of hanging up our helmets at some point...Ain't no shame in calling it quits...
Take care and say Hi to Bev...

Hey Steve. Very sorry to hear. I'm hoping your hip replacement will be a game changer and that when you're recovered, you'll be fully ambulatory. I worked with a guy in his 40s who had a hip replacement. When he fully recovered, he was back to normal. I wish you the best.  :cooldude:

You are right! After the disk replacement (c5) kadaber disk, I lost balance real easy, trying to do what I've always done. Thanks for sharing! If you still ride, enjoy every mile, you never know whats next

"Why Learn From A Researcher?

As a physiologist, a person who studies how the body works and why, I develop techniques that physicians use. My schooling included years of training in how to research and evaluate research. Statistics, logic, data analysis, hypothesis construction, instrument validation, probability analysis, and how to tell if study results show real effects of what you are studying or are from chance, or the result is there but too small to matter practically."
