Hi Guys. I was going to come out to New Haven this afternoon for a visit but I got distracted and time got away. Guess I would have had to travel a bit farther,eh? Enjoy the riding in my favorite part of the country. Sadly, I have probably had my last ride there. See ya when you get home.

Just spent 4 days riding east Tn and NC. With a little planning, you can ride all day (or as long as you last) never on anything but twisty hilly 2 lane roads. Had a blast! We didn't ride any of the named roads. Headed for WV next week!

I did 4 days in WV alone, followed by a week in NC with 10 friends this past July.

I still dream of the roads.

I trailered, w/o concern, otherwise the riding would have been 2 days in WV and 5 days in NC.

If I was able to just ramble around DDT style, then the cage & trailer could stay home.

Plus if you hit bad weather you can still get out.

What would seem to be great is having a riding buddy at your disposal without that nuisance of having a job! The fact your brothers doesn't hurt either I imagine.

And this is another Cherohala, but I decided to mute the colors a lot and bump the contrast to fit the musical selection better.

As you can see by the videos Chris has posted we had great weather. We arrived in Luttrell TN at my wife's families home on Friday. It rained Saturday and Sunday so no riding those two days.

On Monday we rode some of my favorite roads. Hwy 61 and 441 up to Norris Lake and the dam. Then we rode to Petros TN and rode Devils Triangle back to Rocky Top. I had not ridden that road. Was very curvy and scenic.

On Wed we rode to Telico Plains using Hwy 360. Another curvy and scenic road. We then rode up the Cherohala Skyway to Bald River Falls then onto the Santeetlah Overlook and back down to Telico Plains. Was a great day.

On Thursday the plan was to ride up to Cherokee NC via Gatlinburg and ride up the Blue Ridge but a major traffic jam just outside of Gatlinburg put a stop to that. We just turned around and went back down. Unfortunately I missed the bypass on the way down and had to ride through Gatlinburg. What a PITA. Stop and go the entire way through and then again on the way through Pigeon Forge. I haven't been through PF in 20 years. When did the traffic get that bad?

On Friday we took and quick ride up to the Cumberland Gap tunnel and Museum. We learned some very interesting history on the Cumberland Gap during the Civil war.

We had a great week of riding. Weather was fantastic. Mid 70s and sunny all week. We did approx 560 miles total. Not a lot but  we definitely had more quality miles then quantity.
