I was adjusting the trunk latch because mine requires you to push down really hard, and I placed the keys inside the trunk. Then I decided to test my handy work. It was a little lose, so I decided to open it back up. However, the trunk was locked, so I started digging in my pockets for the key. I couldn't find it there, so I started looking all over the garage for the keys. I finally realized that I left them in the trunk.  The bad thing is that I don't have a spare key. I been meaning to get one, but I always forget to bring the key when I go to the dealership. Looks like I will be getting a couple of copies made once I get the key code of the saddle bag lock.....

Locked mine up on a weekend trip into the Carloina's . Called a locksmith who was there in less than 30 minutes and it took him less than 3 minutes to open it .... $75.00      I bitched about it not takin' over 3 minutes he said " You're not paying for my time you are paying for my skill " . Dude was right and we rode on.

Same exact thing here Joe...  locked the key in the trunk at the Lone Star Rally in Galveston, $75 later I had my key back.

Got to the Rally, found a vendor that was making keys, got 3 spares made.  The flat kind that fit in my wallet real easy.  Gave one to the wife, just in case.

i have my main key, one on my wifes key ring(she always brings her keys), one on my buddies key ring.

same for the trailer and hitch.

It was a little teenie battery from one of those flick lights that are no bigger than a pencil eraser was wedged in the lock

I have an extra key hidden on the frame of the bike with plastic wire tie.......

Lost mine on a trip once.....

Those that know me.... know it is easier for me to just leave the keys IN THE BIKE and not risk losing them..

Been there, done that.  Locksmith was cool about it.  Offered to right it up so I could tunn it into my insurance.  I laughed and say, I did it, I'll pay.  Had copies that afternoon.

I stopped locking my trunk after that and also had a few keys made.
I cut the fat part off of one and stuck it in my wallet!

Keep my spare keys in the side cover, I cover them and glue them in with black silicone. Looks like a blob to anyone looking for a key. It takes a little digging to get them out but they are concealed and there if I need them.

Ya know, I have a spare key to the Valk as well as any other locking device that is on the bike laced in my Boots. Ever since a good friend of mine on a ride to Italy thought he lost his keys took apart his entire ignition system to hot wire the bike and then reached into his pocket and found the keys. While he was busy taking apart the ignition system we were all looking in the grass to find a set of keys he never lost. I relized having only one key with you in some of the remote areas of the Alps was not agood idea and laced them into my bootlaces,  kinda like we used to with Dogtags.

I took a small wire and hung a spare key in my  over full resevoir  with the cap on the whole thing is invisible.

I feel much safer about locking up my keys now--No more trunk-SuperValked it.
I for one wish it did not lock without the key.

this may be a stupid statement, but you know that by turning the key to the counterclockwise position
the truck will open with the handle under the trunk.

i didn't know that for quite a while.

I've always (since my first car) kept spare keys for my bike, car, and truck in my wallet.  This system has come in handy about 5 or 6 times over the years.

I used to keep keys in wallet but now I put the wallet in my trunk when riding. I don't like the way it feels while riding.

Two screws on the upper section of the lid allow you to slide the hook up or down to adjust the trunk.

Thanks a lot. I looked at those screws but it didn't look like they were adjustable with slots.
