This law gives no new power to the government and it in FACT requires state and municipal gov't officials to do their damn job !  You have misspoken if you consider the illegal immigrants to be citizens!

As a tax paying ,law abiding andLEGAL resident of the United states of America,having been born here to two parents of legal citizenship I have ALWAYS been subject to being stopped by police and required to Identify myself and only able to evoke my 5th amendment right when being detained against my will,then being informed of my "Miranda"rights before any further questioning pertaining to a crime. NO WHERE under the 5th amendment does it mention withholding your identification!  So that being said, How does Arizona law give ANY government more power over it's "citizens"?

You sound just like our Attorney General Eric Holder and Home land security chief Napolitano because as they admitted, they haven't read the Arizona law either. But that didn't stop them from condemning it. The position our government took, IE democratic liberal progressives, is all based on politics and tearing our country apart. They want to get that huge Hispanic voting block and once our country is torn apart they can rebuilt it into what they want, a socialist society. Wake up and open your eyes Bobbo, we need real Americans to stand up against this socialist regime and take back our country or our grandkids will be asking us "what was it like to be free Grandpa"?

When a supposedly Democratic country has 1000's of citizens a day fleeing for a better life, there's a fundamnental flaw with that govt.. Mexico has had this problem for many years.
To see Calderon stand before Congress & comdemn American policies,  have 1/2 of congress cheer him, & see nobamya agree with him, made me sick.
Why do we not have CANADIANS fleeing their Country across our Northern border.
Ya think the problem lies with Mexico & not with Arizona, or America?
The Mexican people are hard working, good people, & Mexico is a Country is rich in natural resouces, but until the US DEMANDS  Mexico clean its own house there will be no good end of this.

Well, unfortunately, Representative McClintock's statements were made to an empty House.  This was a statement that basically, while it sounds good, is pretty hollow in reality and basically gives him some good soundbites for his next campaign.  I think every person who stood and applauded the Mexican president needs to be tarred and feathered and ran out of Washington on a rail.  I am also very disappointed in the Republicans who just sat there and did nothing.  I think it would have made a very powerful statement for them all to get up and walk out when the Mexican president started his verbal attack on our country.  I guess there are no more men of strength and character in Washington.

First off-I agree with the good Congressman of California.
It isn't a party thing, it is financial.  We dare not speak badly about those that purchase what goods we still make in the U.S.  Mexico is one of the largest importers of our goods. 
Bush looked like he was having an affair with Vicente Fox during his terms.
I have not been in Mexico in a couple of decades and don't intend on going but I'm quite sure that the Mexican government has done nothing to promote opportunity for their people to keep them in their home country.  A lesson we better be learning quick-time.  They, like us, have lost their jobs to other countries as well with a global market.  We lost our manufacturing jobs to the Maquidoras for wages and environmental concerns.  The manufacturing plants still were polluting the U.S. via the New River that flowed north to the Salton Sea.  Mexico has been facing manufacturing job loss as well as jobs flowed to cheaper labor markets than Mexico. 
It would appear that outside some very successful individuals that agricultural, tourism, and drugs are the mainstays and tourism is fast fading to the violence and corruption and they must compete with cheaper markets agriculturally.
If we would at least enforce the laws that are already in place and enforce our border security, we probably wouldn't be discussing the Arizona issue.  I don't know how things are right now but I was outraged that during the Bush-Fox administrations, we were actually giving the illegals citations for being here illegally and send them on their way to their American destinations.  For those of you with little experience with illegals, it is overwhelming in the southwest.  Illegals and green-card holders are quite easy to spot and checking their status should be on-going.  They want to know where you are and what you are doing in Mexico when you visit and they are not afraid to harrass white folks and ask for your papers.
Even if he spoke to a sparse audience, he spoke to millions of American people on C-span,  and other social medias.  Let's keep an eye on this one, I think you'll find that the GOP is courting the hispanic vote just as intensely as the Democrats.  Bush courted them in their own language.  The legals that are here already is a serious force to recon with and I'm afraid will change our nation forever, no matter what. 
Here's alittle something that should get under your skin.  Before I left SoCal in 2005, there we school buses that went to the border to pick up the children from Mexico and take them to our schools that we built.  You see, California schools get funding based on head count.  There was also talk of financing illegals for housing.  Now we know why someone would do that-package up the risk and sell the package off to fannie mae or what have you.
Anyway-indulge a liberal a little ranting and raving with no sense of direction today.

Article 8, Section E, specifically gives new power to police (government employee) by allowing an officer, without a warrant, to arrest anyone they believe is committing any public offence, which includes being here illegally.  That means that without any evidence of a crime, they can arrest people.  You then have to prove you didn't commit a crime to be freed.  That doesn't sound like the constitution I'm familiar with.  The word citizen intrinsically means a legal resident, so no, illegal immigrants are not citizens.
You are currently required to provide identification to police, not proof of citizenship.  That's a whole new level.  A drivers license in not proof of citizenship, so under the new Arizona law, you would be subject to arrest at the officers discretion.
