As a former Mechanic in a British snobbish only shop, Bravo. I still love those cars.
I still have an 88 jag. Thats mechanically very sound, I'm looking for a decent body, or a 66/68 nova.
Had a 58 Bentley that I brought home in 3 pick-up trucks and a trailer. Chick magnet!
A Kiwi friend of mine told me that an Engineer for Jaguair cought a mechanic buggering his daughter.
Thats why their designed that way.
I have no reason to doubt him.

were you impressed with the Evora? I prefer them to the Elise and Exige'but when you have to look at them all day they end up looking like any other car,too many wheels . I've worked for Lotus for nearly 8 years as a Quality Inspector.

The eType Jag is one of my favorite cars of all time.  I remember a 1973 V-12 Royal Blue eType parked next to the gasoline station I worked part-time in high school.  The dude was a major nerd that owned the car, but the car was a chick magnet!

I think so. There were quite a few hairdressers cars as they were known in England.

But the last thing we Americans got from Britan that worked was
the Bristol AC and we had to put a V8 in that.
  Now ther are some very great cars that have come from there.
But why do they always put 20 things in front of what you
need to work on.

I went to a Brit Car show in Indiana, PA this summer. It was a lovely affair. I'll have to find my pics and share them later. I liked the t-shirt that read, "British Cars, Gentlemen should not drive after dark." Great joke about Lucas electronics! The Brit show I attended had less variety than the one you found. I like the tank!

My family had a few English cars when we lived in Jamaica in the '60's.  Our first was a 1958 Hillman Minx, followed by a Morris 1100, and later a 1968 Ford Cortina.  Other cars we had were a '64 Dodge Polara and an Alfa Romeo.  Because Jamaica was a British colony the majority of cars were English.  They had some really high tarrifs on imports there and they had higher fees to import cars with longer wheelbases.  That was to keep people from importing luxury cars like Cadillacs and Lincolns but rich people just imported Mercedes-Benzes and Jaguars instead.
