Lockset & Key for used Interstate hard bags

I contacted the steeler, they can only order a complete package i.e. ignition, bags and tour pack lock sets. $235.00. Has anyone been able to just find replacement latches with keys for the Intersrate bags? I have ran for years with out locking the bags, but I fear my luck may run out one of these days.

I took mine to a locksmith and had them rekeyed to match the bike key, think it cost about 30 bux or less.  If you have the original locks thats the way to go.

I did take the latches to a locksmith when I had them off for painting. I had them try and make a key for them. I am trying to see if I can just replace the tumblers with it's own key. Or I should have tried a few other locksmiths.

I took my locksets apart myself and changed a couple of those little plates around, ground alittle off of one and completly removed one. Just play around with it until it turns, it's not that hard.

You can get new Interstate bag locksets at HDL (or from your stealer if you can get him
to look on the saddlebag page in the microfiche) for about $45.00.

If you get the kit the dealer was talking about, you can change them all out and still only
have one key...

I haven't ordered my set yet, but I thought one of these bits in the full lock set looked like the
steering lock... ?



I don't see the bag lock cylinders in the picture, but another VRCC member  reported that they
are there...

Maybe, there are differentkits available...i´ll see, if i can find out the number from my kit.....

I ordered  35010-MZ0-700 last night. I can't really tell the difference between 35010-MZ0-A60 and 35010-MZ0-700
using the HDL reverse lookup tool... I guess I'll find out!
