Back to the land of flush toilets.

Well, I'm home from Deer Camp and back to the land of work, flush toilets and TV. I didn't see any shooter bucks but I let a bunch of little ones walk by and took a nice doe. I'll head back to camp in December and hunt a few local places between now and then.

I missed a coyote this morning, then watched an eagle chase it across the field. Sweet!

Nothing compares to staring at the predawn sky from the woods or the scooter and thanking God for letting us live, and play another day on this fabulous planet.

Like riding in the mountains, "deer camp" seems to recharge the soul.

Looks like rain and 33 degrees here tonight so I won't be riding to work tomorrow. I've been at camp since Saturday, that's my longest stretch of not riding since maybe April and I know there are longer stretches to come.

Seems like there were alot more of the little guys this year. I've let 8 2pt -8 pt's walk between bow and gun seasons. Only had one opportunity at a decent one and he hid behind a beech thicket and walked away. The 2 does will eat good though. Back in the woods tomorrow. Watching the woods wake up and seeing all God's creatures is more of the hunt for me than pulling the trigger.

I agree all the way around. More small bucks this year than I have ever seen. And the time on the trigger is the least important part.
