Just as quickly as my gas leak appeared at the wrench party, it is now gone. I rode over to Cowboys house on Saturday after the wrench party as I was carrying some tools for him and we did not notice a gas leak on his driveway. I left his house and filled up my gas tank and rode home. I parked the Interstate in the garage and it has not leaked one drop of gas. I'm glad that I didn't pull the gas tank on Saturday. I'll just keep an eye on it.

maybe the overflow tube. I have been smelling gas at low speeds but can't find a leak. I dropped the bike yesterday at a slick low water crossing and gas was pouring out of the cap. I looked at the microfish and the rubber seal is not shown.

Yes, The back tire broke tracton and the bike slid down and spun on the hihgway peg mount spinning us 180. The front wheel was oner the edge of the paving, about a 1 foot dropoff into the water, so had to drag the front back onto the paving to stand the bike up which was hard to do because gas leaked out of the filler cap, mixed with the water and made it difficult just to stand much less lift up the fallen fat lady. No injuries to us or the bike. Deb got a wet/muddy butt. one footnote, Miles had a car tire and made it through with no problems. Guess I'll go dark side

Almost same thing happen to Nelson and I a month ago. We came to a low water crossing that had a green sheen from algea growing on the pavement. Me on the darkside made it across and Nelson went into what he called a  "controlled skid"  Bike side ways, both feet on the ground in the water luckily he never dropped it.

Glad your and Deb are ok and watch out for those low water crossings!

To make a long story short, this is what happened at the wrench party concerning my gas leak. At the September wrench party, we found out that my project Interstate did not have a gas vent tube installed. Some tubing was bought at an auto parts store and installed on my Interstate. The "T" was left out on the gas vent tube and on my Iron Butt ride to Florida everything was fine on the ride there but when it started raining on me in Florida the engine cut out. I had to vent the gas tank to get me going and had to do that all the way back to Texas because it rained on me all the way back home. When I got to the wrench party on Saturday, my bike was not leaking any gas. What I did was start my Interstate and then I plugged the gas vent tube thinking that the engine was going to shut down, but it didn't. I shut the engine off and unplugged the gas vent tube and my bike statred leaking gas through the gas vent tube. I went and installed the "T" in the gas vent tube and it still was leaking gas. After the wrench party I rode the bike to Cowboys house and the bike was not leaking gas. I left his house and filled up my gas tank and rode home. I parked the bike in the garage and it has not leaked one drop of gas. So, I think I caused the gas to leak through the gas vent tube by putting a plug in the tube. Once the gas that was in the tube drained out, the gas leak stopped. That's the only explanation that I could come up with on why the gas leak started and stopped as quickly as it did. I hope that made sense.
