This is no Yoke, Extended Backorder on driveline Yoke. I lost my drive shaft U-joint (Yoke in Honda terminology) back in June of 2010. I ordered one out and found out later that it became back-ordered. Well, a back order usually takes a few extra days or a couple of weeks. In this case, Honda changed vendors and said it would be delayed until mid-February of 2011.
Well it is now March and it still is not in production. They say it will be March 31 before they will be available. When I called this morning, they were in meetings, so I had to wait an extra hour before they would answer the phone. So in my closing minute, I tried to encourage Honda to have less meetings and make more parts.
I just bought a Suzuki to ride while my parts are being made..........The other reason for the Suzuki was that I wanted a lighter bike due to my lower muscle mass   ( I am in my 60's now and have lost some weight and muscle.)

wouldn't it have been cheaper to buy the u joint off of the classifieds, instead of buying another bike?
though I do understand the allure of a different ride on occasion,

GOOSE

imagine...... EVERY HONDA GOLD WING FROM 1988-2000 INCLUSIVE, AND EVERY VALKYRIE FROM 1997-2003 INCLUSIVE, AND NOT ONE REPLACEMENT U-JOINT AVAILABLE TO FIT THE FIRST ONE........WHAT A SHAME, AND A DISSAPOINTMENT!!!!!!! honda is going to have to make some more, because if they don't, just think how many people out here will never ever ever ever ever buy another honda motorcycle.  i know that i won't. :cooldude: :cooldude:

Goose your reviving my memory. I had a 85 Aspencade and followed the GWRRA. Lots of guys were buying the Valkyrie u-joints for replacements saying they fit but were heavy duty compared to the Wing's u-joint. Now I wonder are they the same joint.

bone....the gl1200 universal joints are not available any longer, at least not in the micro-fich.  i don't remember whether or not if that perticular u-joint was interchangeable.  if it was, it wouldn't matter....you can't get it.  what really concerns me though is the tremendous amount of bikes that this one part covers, and for all intentd and purposes, if this part gets gone, then the bike is gone as well.  what a real shame.

Hi Bzar,

Do you have that part#?
I was trying to locate it on the microfiche and couldn't.

Thanks,

Glenn
