Not sure if this is home-made or not, but I think it's interesting. The price isn't too bad, compared to other trailers. Has anybody ever seen one quite like it? I've seen one similar, but was made to mount way up high, on the luggage rack.

Yeah, what she said...

Black Dog

I have one of those 'Thule' Ski boxes, and have often thought about making something very much like that.  Use the box, on top of the truck, in winter, and then behind the bike while traveling in the summer.

Cool idea  :cooldude:

That appears to be along the same lines of a UniGo trailer and would no doubt require a special hitch set up I'm guessing.   Maybe a little to low profile for my tastes.....  I would have to have a flag or two flying off the ass of that so no one ran over it.

You might think that... but actually I would bet that the tongue weight would be at or less than 50% of overall weight and that would depend on what you had in there (it looks smaller than the standard HF car top carrier).  Doesn't a standard HF car top carrier trailer with 2 wheels allows the weight to vary as the trailer pivots on the axle?

The low profile will help keep sway to a minimum.  With a Uni-Go you have to be careful of how you load it.  Make sure to keep heavy items LOW to reduce sway.  If loaded correctly, I can run 95+ without sway... but load it top heavy and it starts to wiggle at about 65.

The idea of a flag off the ass-end WOULD be a good idea though... definitely want to keep people in large trucks from driving over the back of it.

Yup flag would be a great idea.   It would of saved me one year on the way to InZane when a goof ball in a tree service truck with no insurance, nailed me at a toll booth.   They called the State patrol, we waited for an hour and left.   We had exchanged names and etc.  Didn't know at this time he didn't have insurance on that particular truck.

Later I found out when I didn't have an accident # issued by the patrol, they didn't give a rat's butt if he had insurance or not.   If I'd of had this #, they would have yanked his Commercial license till the damages were paid.

Didn't think it hurt the trailer too much, but when I got it home we found out it had totaled the trailer per my insurance company.   It was going to cost me $500 deductible if they stepped in, so I pulled in some floats I had out.   One was a good welder, and the other was one hell of a fiberglass guy.   Ended up putting it in 120% better shape that factory for $200.

I have a car top carrier monted on a trailer and it rides great --24 cube feet can fit 2 sets of golf clubs and bags --bought last year for 300.00 best money spent --the man i bought it from had 42 lbs of air in tires --i droped the air presser down to 20 and he asked me why --told him no weight on tires and he said so that is why it was all over the road --pulls great only use on longer trips --he never would have sold it if he would have droped the air pressure  --live and learn !!!
