Does anyone have a diagram of the Interstate CB wire harness?  I'm looking for what each wire is used for in the connectors.  Is it possible to install a two way radio and use the wires from the cb harness and use the factory ptt botton to talk in the radio?  I can change the volume and the channels by hand.

Here is a Interstate schematic. Not sure if this will help I'm not a CB person.

I think Dag has the original installation document online...

The Interstate radio has all of that already. And the ptt isn't necessary because the two-way is voice activated using the correct audio accessory connected items. (headphones and microphones)

But it's the CB he wants. Sounds like he's going to add a non-Honda one to his bike, and is willing to splice it into the existing wire harness, to be able to use those controls that are already stock on all ISs. I would be interested in knowing if this is what he's doing, and how it turns out. A $200 J&M is a lot cheaper than a factory or Yamaha setup.

Gordonv,
You are correct, but it doesn't have to be a aftermarket cb.  I was really thinking of one of my police two way radios or a fmrs two way radio.  I know most of the riders around me don't have cb's.  I would be willing to make a connector to plug into or splice into the harness.  That way I could use the ppt and listen through the intercom in my helmet.

There was a post in the goldwingdocs forum about hard wiring a bluetooth ear piece into the intercom of his GL1100 (or was it his GL1200?).

Hardest part was the power. Easy to open up the blue tooth and hard wire leads from the speaker, mic, and to power. I figured out that you can buy a car charger for around $5 (from Hong Kong), and splice them into the bike. Nice to add bluetooth to your intercom.

Let us know how you work out. Did you find the connectors yet? I have the link at home, vintage connectors, I think is the company name.
