Have I lost my mind?

I'm headed to Memphis in the morning to pick up another bike, yea another and trying to talk myself out of it but its a sweet deal. But here's the thing its not a valk  its a Harley OK flame suit on. I love my Tourer and up until yesterday I've never even ridden a Harley so I rode a friends bike, I have to say I didn't feel like I had a bike under me compared to mine. There's definetly more wind on the Harley and the ride is just not like the Valkyrie. Yet I'm still headed west to buy the bike anyways. So am I crazy or just plain stupid?  The thing is I know I can make a couple grand on this bike if I wish to sell it so that's the only way I can justify my actions. Oh so you guys/gals know it,s an 07 Heritage Classic 10,000 miles new tires lots chrome.

Guess I'm looking for some reason for you guys to wake me up for the reason of my post, so sorry for rambling.

you really want to know the truth? if you have the money to burn go burn it......its your choice

right wrong or indiferant

The Anvil

I see no valid argument against it.
Boxer rebellion, the Holy Child. They all pay their rent.
But none together can testify to the rhythm of a road well bent.
Saddles and zip codes, passports and gates, the Jones' keep.
In August the water is trickling, in April it's furious deep.

1997 Valk Standard, Red and White.

If you can make money on it if you don't like it, what the hell.  Go for it.

If global warming is happening...why is it so cold up here?

When I purchased my valk  almost 4 yrs ago I came real close to buying a Heritage so tail classic again well worth the money actually so cheap it scared me. But for what ever I had my heart set on the Valkyrie had been ever since aa buddy of mine showed me his and I heard it with glass packs on with truck stacks. So i searched and found the bike I have now. I've even looked for the past month or so for another Valkyrie but just couldn't find one that I liked the colors of. I've even noticed how the prices of our bikes have dropped in this search and that's sad to see such a great bike taking another hit on depreciation but guess there just aging. So full circle back again at the Heritage I'd figure I give it a try even though I know where my heart is and probably will always be with the Valkyrie.

couple of questions; can you afford it?  will your family go without some other necessity?  are, or have you ever been on the show "Hoarders"?  is it red/black?  how much chrome?  I/S, tourer, or standard?

Personally, I love MOTORCYCLES.

You sound as if your apololgizing for it being a Harley.....as if it's something to be ashamed of.  If you like it, it's something you want to own and maybe make a few bucks off of it, what difference does it make what brand it is?  As long as the spousal unit is on board with it.....go buy it.   :cooldude:
I can't help about the shape I'm in
I can't sing, I ain't pretty and my legs are thin
But don't ask me what I think of you
I might not give the answer that you want me to

No wife or kids to support thank goodness, so its just me and yea affording it is no issue.  Guess its just the fact of having two bikes and can only ride one at a time. I know some of you here have multiple bikes as well just never thought I'd be one who would add another bike to my stable. Guess way I see it is we only live once so I'm gonna buy ride it a bit and see if its me and if not like I said I'm getting it cheap enough I can make a couple grand on it.

Go and purchase it and give it to me. :2funny: Problem solved. :cooldude: RIDE SAFE.

Make sure you resell it quickly. If you don't you'll get the urge to buy clothes and dew rags to match and that $2K profit will get eaten up.

Ugghhh thanks so making mental note stay away from Harley shops but then if i just ride the Valk I won't be visiting those places lol........

My personal philosophy is everyone (who rides) needs at least two bikes.  So there you go.   :cooldude:  Have fun.

I guess I can't be any help.......I have three bikes, Goldwing, Valkyrie and a KLR. So, I say go for it :) The Heritage is my favorite Harley. I bet you don't sell it. They are nice bikes. Enjoy your bikes, you only live once.

hahaha.......ffuunniieee........and then when you sell the Heritage you'll be riding a Valkyrie with a harley leather jacket on........and probably have a little attitude to boot......ha.

22Dasher

Haha that's cute, actually went into the Harley dealership today with my Valkyrie jacket on I'm sure I caught some funny looks but oh well. Anyhow got the bike home after aprox 13 hrs on the road with heavy rain all the way from Memphis to my home town of Shelbyville. That's a trip I don't want to make anytime soon again.

James

Oh once I get it all cleaned up I'll post some photos.

Yea I was pulling a trailer both ways it rained both ways and there were 6 major wrecks plus got caught in rush hour traffic on 440 to boot left shelbyville went to Tullahoma get the enclosed trailer then to Manchester to pick up a rider then headed to memphis trip back pretty much same route. Typically normal driving there and back about 7 hrs

R J MILES

I did not know that you can have too many bikes.  I have 5. 99 Valk IS trike, 98 Valk tourer, 98 Valk standard with hardbags and a blower, 95 Ural, two wheel drive, with a sidecar, and a 1966 650 Boniville. Still have room for one more, if it trips my trigger!!   Fuzzy

You have to justify nothing. Most of the folks I ride with ride Harleys. I really like'em always have.
Nothing sounds like a Harley, nothing looks like a Harley. Buy what you like, ride what you like.
Many folks are like me, just not willing to pay the money. I have 2 bikes a VTX & my VALK...
I would like to have a Harley but would not part with either of my Honda's.
What a great day, lets ride!
