Houston - New Year's Day ride

Last year a few of us celebrated the New Year with a ride.  Let's do it again!!  Suggestions for destination are welcome.  The most important this will be to make sure the restaurant chosen for lunch is OPEN on New Year's. 

I can't think of a better way to start a new year than good bikes and good friends.

Merry Christmas Y'all! I know that West of the Brazos is open New year's day and they have a big pot of back eyed peas and cornbread.... a freebie! It's in Damon, TX Hwy 36 south. Nice ride out there past Brazos Bend State Park. Happy New year to all!

Ok, provided the weather holds out (right now they say we have a 70% chance that it won't rain), we'll be meeting at the Chevron station at the corner of 521 and Hwy 6 (just north of 288).  We'll plan on leaving around 9:30, heading south through peaceful farm lands, with a few small(ish) towns along the way.  We have the option of eating lunch early in Bay City, or late at West of the Brazos.  Personally, I vote for late lunch, I can have a good breakfast to hold e until then. 

Anyone care to join us?

Oh, the doc said something about chunks of cartilage being missing, bare bone rubbing, twisting=bad, and now he wants to attack me with knives again.  Same doc, same knee as earlier this year.  Different problem, but worse this time.

Rocketman I think I may have done the same thing as you twisting knee=bad.
Only it sounds like it is not as bad yet. But very bothersome all the same.

Tinman, get on 6, go north, past 288.  FM521 exits to the right, I'm not sure, but I think it may be McKeever Rd at that point. 

Life would be easier if streets didn't have identity crisis issues with their names!

It was a small group (3) but we had a good day with friends.  And close to 200 miles, too!

Sorry I couldn't make it.  Teething toddler and a wife with a migraine led me to staying home.  Glad it was good.
