Hard Saddle Bags

Has anyone tried these hard saddle bags on the Valkyrie?  They look good and sound like a quality product, but I'd like to get some feedback from you guys before I buy a set.

Good question...I've been wondering the same thing.  I've never seen another set on another bike, much less a Valkyrie, but the LS004 Ultimate model looks veeeeery interesting and looks very close to the stock Honda bags on the Tourer.  Would be good to know if the Honda bag rails would work with them too.

I found these on e-bay, Bates bags, Very old set. I see more of these on e-bay once in a while. About $120.00 plus paint.

xxti, i was thinking about the hard bags from invicta till i spoke with someone that had them.was told that they were cheaply made and the hinges dont last. he purchased a set from tsukayu and was very pleased, changed my mind for bags that will go on the vtx 1800

I've also heard they were junk.
I would spend the $1000 for the oem honda bags and mounts(used).
The pricing sucks,but the bags are priceless,IMHO.

Thanks for the tips on the Invicta bags guys.  The Tsukayu bags look pretty good.

I haven't seen any used OEM bags & mounts for sale.  Can you point me in the right direction?

Keep an eye on ebay and craigslist. I just bought OEM bags for $550 in really decent shape, just minor scratches. Some mounting hardware just sold on ebay for $214. Just set a search and watch your mail.
Search tempest will search a geographic area of craigslist and there are cheap programs that will scan CL under your search parameters and email you notifications. I have found most of my parts this way.

I also watch "valkyrie parts" on ebay daily.
I bought a few extra sets of hard bags,so I can mount them on my next valk.
$200-$300 usually gets you a single saddlebag,$600-$800 for a matched set.
Mounts usually run about $300.
I watched a full set sell last week with mounts right around $1000.

Thanks for the compliment.  Unfortunately, I had to destroy the molds when I built these.  I basically carved the bags out of foam and laid the fiberglass over that.  Then I chopped the foam out of the inside of the bags in little tiny pieces.  So I'd have to start from scratch again.  Also, because of the way the opening at the top is, they will only hold a half-helmet.  A full face or a 3/4 helmet just won't fit.  I've got somewhere between $600 and $650 in them including paint and the mounting brackets, which also double as a trailer hitch.
