There is an effort to identify PCs that have suffered a malicious DNS change.

Read the write up at the DCWG page, www.dcwg.org, then check the www.dns-ok.us URL. If your PC is "infected," the site www.dns-ok.us will show a red screen, if not, you get a green screen. If you are infected, let me know. I'm curious as to just how many are actually infected. I checked all PCs in my home and I'm green. You should check the verification link from every PC under your control.

After July, supposedly, infected PCs will no longer be able to access the DNS server function which means no Internet.

Is this a scam so everyone will go to this web site, open up their link and infect their own computers so the hackers don't have to?

The FBI is encouraging users to visit a website run by its security partner, http://www.dcwg.org, that will inform them whether they're infected and explain how to fix the problem.

The FBI has published a paper with instructions on how to detect DNSChanger on individual systems.[1]  US-CERT has released another paper with instructions on how to remove a Trojan Horse or Virus.[9]  A number of countries have created sites to determine if a system is infected.[7]  These sites follow a standardized naming convention: http://dns-ok.CountryCode.

Here is a partial list:

Is this a Trojan virus posed as a question by BF that will result in identity theft of anyone who quotes it and responds?

If I'd have posted "check out this naked chick riding a Valkyrie" at www.dcwg.org you'd have clicked on it repeatedly.

NOTE: No, BF, there is no naked chick riding a Valkyrie at the URL/link and this is not a scam.   :)
