I HATE BEES

Yesterday while riding on I 81 a bee flew into my shirt.

Of course he decided that stinging me would be the thing for him to do.

He began by stinging me on my left shoulder.

The natural reaction when a bee stings you is to "smack" at it.

This doesn't work very well when it's trapped inside of your shirt.

Also, it isn't a good idea to let go of the throttle when you're doing 70+ mph on the interstate with a semi behind you.
                   
I'll bet that the "cagers" around me thought that I'd lost my mind as I dived across three lanes of traffic and onto the shoulder while frantically grabbing at my shirt.

I got onto the shoulder as quickly as I safely could and jumped off of the bike and yanked off my shirt.

But, before I could the little b*$t*rd managed to sting me on the scar from my heart surgery last year.

That will "light" up your world.

I never saw the bee, which led to me standing on the side of the road for a few minutes just to make sure that he was really gone.

I hope that little "sucker" is dead.

Oh yeah!  Been there!  Had one get stuck under my helmet, right neck!!  Thing that scared the crap out of me was how dizzy I felt, instantly!  Never had that happen and I've been stung dozens of times!  Time to get an Epi stick!

I hit one at about 75 mph on The Foothills Parkway last year . It got me right under the left eye by the time I reached the other end of the Parkway my eye was swelled shut

I had to have the ambulance meet me last week out on the road.  Bee sting.  Got dizzy, was worried about airway shutting, but never bothered there.  I have an EPI pen, but of course it was safe, AT HOME! It is on the bike now!

If it stung you more than once, it probably wasn't a bee. Most bees lose their stinger and die at the first sting. Cept those big dog bumble bees and wood bees. And those suckers hurt like H***.

Coming back home through SD last year with my bibs on and felt something hit my leg. The wind had pulled up my pant leg a bit so it hit me right on the leg. Felt around for it but found nothing. A hour later we stopped for gas. I looked down in my boot and there was a bumble bee. Kicked off my boot but got stung as I did that. Now I tuck my pant legs in my boots or wear chaps!

A few years back  . . . my bud & wife (2up) were in the lead.  I saw him beating his left shoulder and chest with his right hand while at the same time attempting to counter the actions of his wife who was trying to stand on the pegs and reach over his right shoulder . . . while motoring along a twisty 2 lane road.  After watching this for several moments we all finally stopped on a shoulder.  They were asking each other what the hell the other was trying to do . . . only to learn that he was trying to kill a yellow jacket that went up his coat sleeve . . . while she thought he was thumping his shoulder and chest having a heart attack, and was attempting to reach over his shoulder to hit "the little red button" (kill switch) before they went over a cliff.  How he managed that circumstance without going down . . . .  Wasn't funny at the time, but I crack up every time I think about it.

Been there myself.  Had one sting me about 5 times at Inzane.  Thanks to Lady Draco and her ointment, I survived to ride again. 
Them bees will make ya sit up and take notice.

If you got stung by a bee, rest assured it was a female.

I find rather than slapping them it's best to carefully squeeze them between the thumb and index finger of the left hand.  I try not to panic over a quad winged sextoped inside my clothing as I believe the panic is much more threatening than is the little beast.

I'm glad you came away intact.  stinging wildlife tend to take the fun out of riding for a moment or two.

I got stung on the side of the head after a ball face hornet smacked into the the side of my face, and then slid into my helmet. Took about 30 minuets for the swelling to get out to my eye. Its one of the reasons I never own a bike without a windshield

Got swarmed (stung over a dozen times) last season & ended up in West Branch (MI) ER (a story in itself) as a pin cushion on ice.

Wife got popped last weekend on the hand as we were riding to Corpus Christi.I found some shade (hard to do right now in Texas) and helped her get the stinger out. Next town got some ice and continued on withthe ride. She's tuff .

Had a honey bee fly up my nose one time.Stung me good!!! Looked like I'd
went a couple rounds with Ali in his prime. Luckily that was in my pre-riding
years. Now bees make me nervous.

I was riding along a 2-lane country road, beautiful summer day, had a windshield (Valk Tourer), with full face helmet with the visor flipped up.  A bumblebee came from from a quartering angle and lodged right in the bridge of my glasses.  No where to pull over, I had to proceed up the road for a couple of hundred yards until I could pull into a driveway - with it stinging me the whole time.  Soon as I pulled my glasses off, it flew away.  Had to get home quick while I could still get my helmet off.

My first bee sting on a Valk was when the bee got herself trapped between the tank and my knee.  OUCH!

Second one went up the sleeve of my t-shirt.  Third one and I collided on the road.

Bad things come in threes.  So I hope I've had my share of bee stings.

We did have a great time riding with you and Debbie last week.  Good company and the riding on the parkway was perfect.

i've been hit by lots of bees. I have yet to enjoy the experience.
One hit me in the bend of my elbow. I was moving at full tilt boogie when it went down my sleeve and slammed into my left elbow bend.
I couldn't feel my hand for a moment. I think it was shock at the jolt, but it was scary as 4377 when my clutch hand fell to my side and dangled there. It came back in a second. But it was a long second.

I've been stung between the knuckles when I hit a bee and it got stuck between my fingers with no gloves on.  That hurt just to hang onto the bars after that...and I still had over 100miles to my destination.

I also had a wasp hit me in the side of my face while riding with a full-face helmet with the shield up.  It actually went into the ear pocket of the helmet and I could hear it buzzing around in there.  I never stopped so fast and had that helmet off in my life.  Somehow, I never go stung, though.  I think the wasp was stunned and confused for a few moments himself.

I don't know what's worse on the bike...bee and wasp stings...or June bugs to the face or neck...both sting like $@!&$!?!!!!!!!

on the way back from americade the 1st year I went on my 750 I had one fly into my half helmet
I pullled over and jumped off but not before being stung in the ear

The street sign next to where I pulled over was  BEEHIVE LANE  

Now I try to carry the epipen and benadryl which usually does the trick by itself

That day I just bit into 3 liquigel type benadryl and sat for a few minutes

til the sting buzz got replaced by the benadryl buzz\\Those june bugs always hit me above the eye why is that?
