Thanks to Scott....the creator of this here board........the slide show for the rear end is now available in Shop Talk.  Look under Tech Tips (Rear End Service by ChrisJ)  After you click on it you can save it to your computer....should be easier to open once its on yours.  The version in shop talk has some added pages and detail.  You will need to have powerpoint to view it.

Once it opens....click on the tab at the top that says "slide show" then click the button (far left) that says from beginning.  That will show it in full screen.  Use the arrow keys to navigate the slide show.

Good luck

For those who haven't shelled out the money to purchase a full copy of MS Powerpoint, there is a free Powerpoint viewer available. Just Google 'Powerpoint viewer' and you should be good to go.

What am I missing, I go to "Shoptalk" and then to "Tech Tips" but I see no "Rear End Service" article, is it possibly not up yet?

From the title of the post I had something completely different in mind...  but I'm sure this will be good also.    :coolsmiley:

Go here and download & install this viewer:

You'll then be able to open and view the file.

Or go to www.openoffice.org and download Openoffice. There are some anomalies, but it will open and use Powerpoint, Word, Excel etc. pages. It's free.

What a great presentation, gives me the courage to do the job myself.  I hope we have more of this type of maintenence information and maybe our own VRCC Video page of these jobs too!

Thanks Again

While I cant ride for awhile.......I thought Id see if you all want another slide show?  Thanks for all the compliments on the rear wheel one, makes the effort worthwhile.  I was thinking about adding the alternator removal and installation with new brush installation.  Or is that just too simple we dont need a visual like we did for the rear wheel.  Let me know, I like making them, but not if theres no need for it

Most likely for most folks on this board, they already know a lot of this information but, I don't.  I sincerely appreciate the effort and will gladly buy you a cold drink should we ever ride together.  In reference to another slide show on Alternator removal and installation, hell yes.   :cooldude:
Thanks for the information already provided.

From all the reports of how hard it is to take in and out, I also would like to see an alternator slide show.  Thanks.

I would vote for an alternator Video over a slide show, if that is possible. Then we would know exactly how to turn it and how many bad words are involved. Never had to do one yet myself.

If I did the video, it would carry an R rating for adult language and graphic violence.
