cleaning the punkin teeth

what is the best method of cleaning the punkin side of the flange teeth? can ya squirt something in there or brush something in there to clean it up? and if so, what is recommended to clean with?

People spray brake cleaner in there.....I dont, All tha I ever need is a rag and a plastic handle....I use a tupperware thing with a square edge on it, but a small paint brush handle or even a stout coffee stir stick ir split a popsicle stick so its not so wide, anything that cant scratch metal and the teeth wipe clean pretty easily

Lean it over a small tub.  Use small brush or old tooth brush.  Use Kerosene to clean out grease,  change oil in pumpkin
when reinstalled.

Everybody has their own method, here's mine:  I use a small screwdriver to get any clumps of grease out, then get an acid brush and some mineral spirits.  Put a little mineral spirits in and use the brush to mix it with any remaining grease, then dump it out.  Repeat one more time then use a popsicle stick to push a clean rag in to dry it up.

Definitely not rocket science.

Brushes like a "toothbrush" and a solvent like "kerosene" is all that's needed.

Getting technical about this kind of issue is "overkill".

Lee has the right idea, I use safety clean put the whole thing in the tub clean it as well as I can take the air hose and blow all excess garbage out of the spline area drain the rear fluid make sure all is clean and install.

The easiest way I know....if unit is still on the bike, put down some cardboard on the floor, some rags on top of that (to catch the mess) and use brake cleaner.  The most effort required is putting down the rags and cardboard.  The brake cleaner will evaporate real fast.

I used to pick around with a slim screwdriver but couldn't get it all cleaned out like I wanted.
