Gawd, for a moment I thought it was a report on a 5 day cricket match (test).

Phew.

We are still dealing with "Fish Flys" here in the SE Michigan- Lakefront areas... usually they are done by now.... They only live for 24 hours..... screw, then die.....

Has been said it was the worst year ever for them......

I took a cricket to the face a couple of years ago.  It caught me less than an inch below the eye.  I had just departed my work site on the gulf coast driving out on a road through the marsh.  My eye felt like somebody shot me with a pellet rifle.  Horrible pain, couldn't open my eye without it hurting even worse.  I rode the 140 miles home in absolute misery.

I know, I should have gone straight to the doctor, but the only time I ever go there, is when I'm leaking a blood trail behind me.

The injury stayed swollen for a week and eventually got infected.  I couldn't stand it any longer, so I decided to "pick" at it.  To my amazement, I plucked the hind leg from that cricket out of my face!

It doesn't take a million of them to take you out.  That one did just fine by himself.

IDK, I tend to chirp a lot in the evenings.  Not sure if you could call that a "super-power" or not.
