Leaving the garage at 8.30

Met up with Keith, Mark and Malon.

Then we went wandering

Some of this

Some of this at a faster speed  :D

Leg stretch at the overlook on Hwy 136.

Malon, Mark, Keith

I'd heard a riding club from Ellijay, NW GA was going to be at Atlanta Motor Sports Park riding the circuit so we dropped in to watch them. Turned out I knew a couple of the club organisers so they let us join them. THANKS GUYS.

That's Keith ahead of me on his Goldwing.

The track is really very well laid out and very technical.

where is the overlook on 136? i've ridden that road many times from ga 400 to elijjay and don't seem to remember a spot like that.

BigAl

Cool a race track,

Kinda reminds me of Talledega and the Valk invasion.

..

Trip, the owner of Atlanta Motorsports Park

After the track laps we rode east to the SE quadrant of GA 400 and Hwy 53 for, TA-DA, BBQ.

I've ridden past this place hundreds of times. Normally I pass it early in the day heading north to the N GA bumpy bits or south homeward.

And it was good.

Keith left us before lunch. He ahd to go to work.

I took Mark and Malon on a short mystery tour of the backroads between Dawsonville and home.

I'd ridden past these gates before. Today I had some unwiling models to pose in front of them.

All I can think is that the home owner may have been in a Jerry Lee Lewis band back in the day or contributed to the writing of the song. OR he's just a nut with a thing for the song?

Determined to keep the day on a high we stopped at a local RC flying club.

This guy was zipping this model around.

The copter to the right has variable pitch rotor blades.

We hung around for a while watching a variety of RC aircraft fly.

And then home for a 200 mile day.

No rain.  :cooldude:

It's past Sunshine Ridge and before Grandview.

On the left heading west as you go around a very deceptive reducing radius right hander.

HELP.

I sent this link in an email but when I clicked the link in the email I sent it took me to the main page where one can access General / Technical etc.

Nice pics and interesting day, thanks for sharing it.  Looks like a very fun day.  :cooldude:

I have gotten into RC helicopters in the last year and have several.  Very fun but the learning curve takes a while with quite a few crashes as one gets more competent.
