I wanna see a timeslip!  :)
My old grocery getter.

With a surprise. I had about $3500 in it stem to stern.

12.60's @ 107 mph all day. No nitrous, 7" wide street tars drive it to the track.
Al lot of fun but alas...... not as much fun as a pair of Valkyries!  :cooldude:

A Yugo in the auto industry was like a Bic lighter.   It was a throw away.

They should have thrown this one away long time ago.   That little body with that big engine is a death trap.

I want it.  It's everything my Valkyrie is but with 4 wheels.

"Everything my Valkyrie is..."  Do you really see your Valkyrie as a POS vehicle with an equally crappy looking power plant?  :crazy2:

Short wheelbases make for a squirelly big end experience! I can tell you that from first hand knowledge.  :o If he ever got that thing to a dragstrip I think he would find out as well.  ;D

RJ,

I don't disagree with you about it being a POS.

But that part about the "little body and the big engine being a death trap" ?

You do realize that this is coming from the guy that has a Chevy 350 mounted on a trike ?

I'm just sayin' that could be a case of "the pot calling the kettle black".

You missed the point my man.

Yugo's were not built to have a great big head of steam.

The uni-body on that thing is not built for a BIG motor.
That Olds motor is way to big for that body.

My 390 cubic inch (stroked AND BORED 350)    Sorry about the caps, but it is past my bed time and I don't feel like going back and redoing it.    At least I have a very sturdy FRAME under mine, a very stiff sway bar so I don't flip flop around.     Now, just for kicks and grins, go look at that picture again and study it.  What you are looking for is things that are not safe.     Only Drag Strip Funny Cars have the engine in the compartment with them.    Some have a chunk of clear material between them and the engine, they also have to have a 'fire retardant system' in case of an explosion and fire.     And some don't have anything, BUT, they are wearing fire suits, full face helmets and etc.

Also that engine setting in the back seat of the Yugo, should it ever blow a radiator hose, someone will end up with some very sever burns.

Let's just say it is kinda unsafe with the engine in there with ya.

At least my Chevy has a nice firewall in front of me.   I've lost radiator hoses, stuck a very large pheasant into the radiator far enough it was not rebuild-able.   Was cheaper for me to have one build from scratch.

Yes in my younger days, I built sheet like that and actually raced them on a Drag Strip if I could get through the Tech Inspection.   Back in my day, Pamona Drag Strip used to say, race what ya brung.    Lots of accidents, then the Tech Group got very strict and they wouldn't let you race your car if it did not pass Tech.

I done discussing this as I'm not making sense to myself, let alone someone else.

Have a nice evening, and a better tomorrow.

As Forrest Gump would say:
"That's all I have to say about that."

The old joke, Do you know how to double the value of a Yugo ? Fill it was gas.  ;D I saw the very "first Yugo" in the U.S. on Burbon St. at a N.A. D. A. meeting, was a POS then.  ;)

No biggie RJ, I just had to yank your chain a little.

I see your points about all of the problems that would go along with that car.

I just couldn't resist the irony in your statement about the size of the engine.
