Looks like I'll be making the trip this summer for the first time. Yeah, I'll bring clothes etc. What's the one thing I'm going to kick myself for not bringing? Got saddle bags and a luggage rack and the passenger seat for space.

Besides the "normal" stuff, perhaps find one thing that will fit that you
or someone else might need.

Rainman  borrowed my 8 inch clamp at inzane (though someone else
had a better tool to de-bead his tire), and about 10 people supplied
bits and pieces I needed to fix my gushing fork seal.

They'll have some for communal use, but for sanitary reasons I'd recommend bringing your own g-string thong, rubber chicken, leather mask and whipped cream for the initiation ceremony.

You can safely use the communal ones if you volunteer to be first.  :uglystupid2:

Bring $ for Poker Run if ya don't buy a ticket @ registration.

The major thing you do not want to forget is yourself.
Other than that, things are pretty well taken care of, especially things you can buy on the road and at the event.

Tigger used to bring a portable tattoo system to the earlier Inzanes, but he won't be attending Inzane anymore I'm afraid, as he passed away in the last year or two...

NOPE, they have had tattoo people on site for several years, maybe not consecutive, but I can remember tigger doing it in his room next to be at like IZ3, so NO, it is not new.

For someone that has yet to attend one of our fun-filled InZanities, you are surprisingly well versed in the potential events.  Remember, what happens on the Island, stays on the Island!

We are trying to procure an on-site tattooist.  Although we did not have much luck the last few years with getting someone on site, we did have a local artist offering discounts to InZaniacs.

I took my first long road trip in 1977.  My girlfriend and I rode my new KZ900 5,300 miles through 12 states and one Canadian province.  Those are memories I'll never forget!

Over the years I came up with a basic list of things I wouldn't take a trip without:

Good eye protection – This may seem obvious, but I took a trip with a friend on a GL1800 a few years ago who only had one of those shorty helmets with no visor.  It was late May and we hit rain at 38 degrees on a pass in Colorado.  He found the next MC shop and bought a real helmet with a visor.

Tire repair – A flat can strand you and ruin your day.  Either buy a kit or make one with some string plugs and a compressor.  I prefer a 12 volt or even spark plug type of compressor to the CO2 cartridges, because they won't run out of air if your plug develops a slow leak.

Tools – At least carry the OEM kit that came with the bike, or put one together yourself.  Some electrical and/or duct tape isn't a bad idea, either.

Rain gear – You never know when you'll need it.

A riding jacket and gloves – This is a minimum; I carry chaps, too.

A few clothes – you don't need much, since many motels have laundry.

Sunscreen – I sure used to get burned a lot before they made good sunscreen.

Check the laws – If you don't always wear a helmet, some states won't like that.  And a few have strict laws on the type of eye protection.  If you have a carry permit you should see if it's accepted (and with what restrictions) in the states you'll travel through.  There are good web sites with all this info.
