You know what killz me? Is when a member post a part in classified, you make a deal with him. He finds another part that goes with it (smaller part) and bumps up the price more than double and wont even cut you a deal on shipping. No names, i just sayin  :uglystupid2:

I've bought twice off this site .............. I'll stick to e-bay for the Valk.

Another site I belong to, I built my whole bike off parts and accessories from the members there and not once did I have a problem.

I've purchased off this site three times so far...

Two were large purchases. These items were received in good condition, as promised, and quickly.

One was a small purchase. That item was also received quickly and as promised. Then the previous owner called me saying he was ripping up the check I sent him... then said "Merry Christmas" when I asked why he was doing that.  (It was getting fairly close to the holidays...)

So far, every dealing I've had with people on this site has been good.

Now... ALL groups will have bad eggs... so, I guess I have been lucky to meet the best of the bunch.   :cooldude:

I'm sorry to hear about you bad dealings... There is no shortage of GOOD guys on here.  I hope you get to meet one of them next time!!

I've had all positive experiences with each one going above and beyond. I am currently waiting for a purchase from the classifieds to arrive and was given a nice break on the price. You know who you are and it's appreciated  :cooldude:
Another member paid for and shipped an item when I was in need without receiving payment. Then that member waited patiently while "the check was in the mail" and took the long route to him. Thank you again :cooldude:    Sorry JoeValk, I'm sure thats not the norm.
I even had a member make a 6 degree trigger wheel for me and ship it to me for free. I have since then shipped parts folks need, that I have for free in return.
If you can't be a good example: be a WARNING!!

I've bought/traded here 3 times. Never had a problem.
Sorry your's didn't work out.

I've never had a problem.  Some people are greedy and will charge what ever they think they can get regardless of what a part is worth, which is entirely their right.  I just don't deal with them.  For members of this site, I feel a certain bond even though I have never met most of them.  I there fore offer them preferential treatment when selling things.  I once sold a pair of lower fork covers, that a pair in worse condition were listed at $300 to a member for $100, because I felt that was more than they were worth, to me.  I probably would lose my azz if I were a businessman because I have a hard time taking advantage of people just because I can.

There's also another side.......sell something to a member at an agreed price and form of payment; ship the item in good faith before receiving payment; member promises several times over several months to send payment but does not and then "disappears" from the board......ASK ME HOW I KNOW !!!

Hook#3287

I've completed several sales and purchases here.  All were excellent.  Except.

The only qlitch was when I sold something, using paypal, the buyer sent the $$$ and when I asked several times for an address for shipping and got no response, I shipped it to his listed paypal address. Living in rural America, it's not just a quick ride to the PO, I was heading out and if I didn't ship it that day, he would have had to wait a week.

That night he tells me the address on his Paypal account isn't right.  It comes back, he wants me to pay the second shipping, I refuse and refund his money minus the Paypal fees.

The last time we communicated, he was of the mind it was my fault for shipping to his listed address.

Why would you have an invalid address listed on your Paypal account?

With one rare exception, all my experiences with buying and selling with VRCC members have been positive.  Often, my payment and the item purchased have passed in the mail (or vice versa).

That said, it seems there needs to be somewhat of a mutual trust for a deal to go through.  I have often seen someone chastised for sending the merchandise prior to receiving clear payment.  BUT, I have never seen it suggested that someone should be able to hold off payment until the merchandise arrives in the condition described.  I understand this dichotomy when dealing with a major sales outlet, or even when using a credit card, but I have never understood why the buyer (and only the buyer) should be the one at risk in a sale between two individuals (or strangers).

Indeed, in the one rare instance where a my deal fell through, the seller accused my of being dishonest simply because he did not like my choice of payment.  I was the only person at risk, and I was concerned that I would not get my money refunded because of the seller's [mistaken] belief that my payment was a forgery.

I like to think we are an honest, tight-knit community.  If you feel you do not fit this profile, feel free to leave.

I'm with ya Joe. Someone had listed some I/S bags with all the hardware, and rails at a real good deal. I told him I'd take them. He then sent me an email, and said from the other offers he got he thought he had priced them too low and now wanted to split them up and charge way more for the rails. I told him to keep the rails.
The other side was someone looking to buy some important parts for their bike. I had a pair in the shed, so I told him they were his if he wanted them. They weren't in perfect shape, but nice. They would serve their purpose just fine. I put them in the mail ($16.00), and never asked for shipping. I never got so much as a Thank you for them.
Now I dealt with several of ya'll, and it's been great.  :cooldude:

Sorry you got screwed! But ya know what, proper or not, it just doesn't seem right that we can't give out a name and protect everyone else. If it was a vendor that name would be given.
