perfect example of why you should inspect your straps, and dispose of them if they're frayed in any way.  read and follow manufactures instructions!!

That rigging was MUCH TOO small for that load! Could have been the riggers, but the operator shouls have inspected it also.

I ran cranes in the 70's and nearly filled my shorts several times, I think that one would have done it for me.

Several years ago I worked for a company that bought a new machine from accross the water.  They bought a new lowboy trailer rated for the proper tonage to bring it home from the port dock.  It was quite a shock to them when the crane set that machine on that new trailer and the trailer just flattened out on the dock crushed beyond repair.  Seem the machine weight was given in metric tons but the trailer had been bought based on short tons..........just a small oversight!  LOL  But at least the machine itself did not suffer.  It looks like that loco was in bad shape after that drop.
