Someone went to their boss and said "I have a great Idea!! Let make it harder to get gas out of a gas can!"

How to Fix a New Gas Can

I like his idea for the addition of a vent. :cooldude:

I drilled the hole in my 1 gallon can, a smaller hole, and dropped in a cut-off 16 penny nail for a vent.

I kind of like the way he did with the valve, I'm not sure my little can has room for that...

All of my cans have been modified like that, except for the valve stem.

Valve stem looks like a good deal.

The No-Spill can will be bought whenever I find it..... the new gas containers have always drove me nuts......... I've spilled more gas with the "OSHA Approved" cans than ever in before in my life, unbelievable poor engineering, is this the best they could do??

This short video shows how to fix the other kind of newfangled, pain in the butt, gas can. The kind that you have to press the spout against the lip of whatever you're filling to get the gas to come out. Another ridiculous design! >:(

Blitz fuel cans are/were manufactured in Miami, Ok. The owner was a very nice gentleman but he sold the company some time ago. The original design was good but due to Uncle Sam's meddling, the design had to be changed and we now have the pain in the hiney design. I believe the plant in Miami was closed but may now be made somewhere else. I modified my cans with the metal valve stems sometime ago and they work great.

I just used a sheet metal screw, ran it in with the drill and unscrew it with fingers to pour.

I like his idea but doubt I get that energetic....  :-\

I thought that too  :crazy2: ... anywho... since this thread started, I got a no-spill jill...
haven't run any gas through it yet, but it seems like a decent, usable gas can... nobody
had one any of the places I looked around here, so I got one on Amazon...

Like that no spill jill design - fast flow rate,  thicker walls, and 3 year warranty - Nice Jill, very nice!   :cooldude:

I remember in November when I bought that used scooter the owner had a new fancy design gas can with gas inside since the scoot had hardly any gas in it.  You'd think he would have used the gas can before but it took 2 brain surgeons to figure out how to get gas to come out.  WE stood there puzzled for 15 minutes trying to figure out what was wrong, no joke!
