If I have told this cat once, i have told it a thousand times.  "You are not allowed on the bed."  I have allergies.   :tickedoff:

  Or on the chair!

That's really brazen.

At least mine are respectful enough to sneak around behind my back.

Ahh yes. Pets in the bed can be uh .... memorable.

I ain't never seen a cat that would hunt for you... or wake you up when a burglar shows up or nothing.  Just lay around doing whatever they want, eating and pooping.  Like teenagers.

I'm not a cat person either, won't harm them at all, just don't care for them....or trust them. They generally aren't a pal like a dog willl be. As for pets anywhere but on the floor...not in my house. Used to irritate my girls when I wouldn't allow them to have our Collie sleep with them. Tough beans. The only wild creature ever allowed on my bed better be on two legs and call me honey.  :D That old song by Milky and Saliva(Mickey & Sylvia) called "Love Is Strange" comes to mind about this time!  ;)

I've never allowed pets of any sort on my furniture...including the bed. When we would go out, I always would put the dog in the laundry room or garage. In either place they always had great sleeping arrangements so it's not like they had to sleep on a hard floor. In our neighborhood I see people walking their dogs and carrying a plastic bag. They pick up the dog turds after the pooch drops his load. I find that strange, because every dog I've ever owned I had taught them to go in one specific spot, usually a distant back corner of the yard. I could walk with the mutt all over the area and it wouldn't crap until we got home. When I tell my neighbors about that, they say it's impossible. OK, then just keep being the dog's own personal pooper scooper, looks real neat carrying a bag of crap down the street.  :uglystupid2:

BonS

The problem with kittens it that . . .
they turn in to a cat.

Close doors to bedroom, problem solved.

I don't know about dogs, but you can get disease from cats.  I would never sleep with one, or allow them in the bedroom at all.

Damn..... I wonder how I ever made it to age 55.  :D ;D :o

I cannot remember anytime during my life we did not have at least one cat in the house. I asked my mother if there was always a cat in our house when I was young. She said always.  :cooldude:

I can go in someone's house that has a cat and I clogg up like a muzzleloader. I'm sure if I was to sleep in a bed with a concentration of cat hair I would never wake up and pass from lack of oxygen  :o

I've seen alot of people that thought they were cool , but then again Lord I've seen alot of fools.

My cats have hunted scorpions, cleared an infested house of them actually...warned me of a snake in the house (rattlesnake), the Maine Coons guard the wife...and on and on.

Like dogs too!

Dogs, we are their Masters and they know it, Cats don't give a damn.  My wife likes cats, I don't know why, I don't pretend to understand why anyone would want one for anything other than a rodent deterent.   Keep them outside, keep them fed just enough to keep them around but, just hungry enough to want to kill and eat mice.

I grew up on a farm/ranch, we had several barn cats, they did their job, I did mine.  How or why they ever found their way into the house, I don't know.  That's what I get for marrying a city girl.

All my insults are in jest...

But I am seriously not a cat person.  They are OK if they are someone else's.  I like a dog because honestly, all a dog ever WANTS to do is make you happy.  If you have a bad day... he wants to be in your lap even though he's 75lb.  If you had a great day...he wants to be in your lap even though he's 75lb.  If you had a mediocre day... he wants to be in your lap even though he's 75lb.  If you have a celebration... he wants to be in your lap even though he's 75lb.  If you have a terrible failure... he wants to be in your lap even though he's 75lb.   If you had a fight with the wife... he wants to be in HER lap even though he's 75lb.   :2funny: :2funny:

The cats we have now-my daughters-stay outside. When we lived in Colorado my boys came up from Texas. One of them brought his Great Dane. He tried his damndest to be a lap dog.  :2funny: Most of the time he suceeded,  :2funny: Another trick of his was to stand on his hind legs with his paws on my shoulders and lean down and lick my forehead.  :-\ I do notice something though-people that aren't animal people don't get people that are animal people-kinda like motorcycle people-look how many people don't get us.  :cooldude: RIDE SAFE.

Ours do. If she hears something she gets up and goes to find out what it is. Before the dog does. She also likes to attack Kits ankles.  ;D She also gets mice in the basement. To bad she brings them up and plays with them for 2 days before she kills them.  :-\

We had a cat once, back when the kids were little.  We had a pet door for the dog and the cat so they could come and go and do their business outside.

Cat was a pretty good mouser too.  I was always finding half eaten mice laying up under the work bench in the garage.   >:(

However, the straw that did the cat in was one morning I got up to go to work and walked into the kitchen.  It looked like a bluejay had exploded all over the entire kitchen floor.  Cat sitting over in one corner licking itself.

Had a cat until it passed a few years back.  Great pet for a young working couple. Didnt care about anything as long as it had food and water.  Only complaint was that it was a cat and would attack anything that moved.  The worst was when you'd be sleeping and it saw your feet moving under the blankets.  She would go all  Viet Cong and crawl down there under the blankets and tear the crap out of them for entertainment purposes.  It is amazing how much space a 10 pound cat takes up in your heart.  :'(

dogs are overt, cats are covert.

our last cat before she passed was a dog in cats clothing. she came every time she was called, we probably could have trained her to fetch.

dogs can be covert too...
