I'm not familiar with this site but I have to assume it's legit since I was able to check and see how our Senators voted on this.

It looks like our 2'nd Amendment rights are safe from the UN for now thankfully. Too bad there weren't enough votes to attach Senator Lee's amendment too. It would have pretty much guaranteed no new firearm restrictions in the near future. Now, we'll just have to fight each attack as it happens and hopefully win every time.

Here is how your Senators voted on each of the above mentioned items. I'm happy to say both of our Indiana Senators supported our civil rights.

If you're happy or not happy with how your Senator voted there is probably a way you haven't thought of to publicly tell them about it. Our Indiana Senators both have facebook pages. There you can comment on their performance and do so publicly. If your Senator, like Obama, claims to support the 2'nd Amendment while he/she actually votes against it you can bring it to the publics attention on his/her facebook page.

We gotta win this. We can't allow ourselves to be known in history as the generation that lost the 2'nd Amendment. I'll never understand why people that hate freedom as much as these freaks do would even run for office in the USA. And, who the he$$ votes for them in the first place and why.

Both my (D) Senators voted Nay too........... asswipes.  I have already written them suggesting they be trialed for treason (at the end of a polite letter with reasonable argument).  Like talking to dirt.

The vote was 53-46. That is scary to me, way way too close.
Did you notice it was tied to something else, not on its own?
The way we may well lose our gun rights is if a vote on it is attached to a bill that gets wide support. I see that as a frightening possibility. It would have appeal to the gun control at any cost folks who know it would not fly on its own so would attach it to a bill dripping with motherhood and apple pie. We would be part of the UN arms treaty before we knew it.

Thanks for that link/info.   While one of my Senators voted to uphold the second amendment and against the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty.... my other Senator, a liberal democrat who previously provided lip service of his strong support of the second amendment.... but didn't vote accordingly in this case..... which is typical I guess.

There were some Dems or at least one that voted for our rights though. One of Indiana's Senators is a Dem and voted for freedom. He has no doubt gotten a lot of pressure from voters about it though. He replaced our anti-gun Republican Senator Lugar who never saw a gun law he didn't like. The new Dem who replaced him is A rated by the NRA and will get my vote every time if he stays that way.

But, if he votes against us, I'll vote against him in every election he runs in for the rest of my life, no exceptions unless he's running against Sarah Brady.   And I'll E my buds before every election and remind them of his voting record just as I have done for years with other candidates.

I don't give a damn who says our votes don't count, I believe they do. And I believe the future of our descendants and our country is at state in every election. We are always only one election away from ruin as the last one clearly shows. We can rest after we're dead, till then, we gotta keep up the good fight. Many times I have to vote for someone who in many ways I don't like but who is a strong 2'nd Amendment supporter. Then I hold my nose and do it.

My reasoning is simple, I believe our country can recover from most any mistake a politician makes but we will probably never recover from a loss of our Civil Rights. Because if we lose our most basic rights to communicate freely and to own modern firearms we won't have the means to recover. Loss of the 2'nd Amendment means our country and our freedom dies, it means our grandchildren will have nothing but suffering and pain.

So I always vote the 2'nd Amendment first and all other issues come after.

You are correct, I knew that, but my wording came out wrong.  I meant that all that voted against our rights were Dems, with an I too.  Our, ND, newest senator voted yea.  She is one of the handful of dem senators that are preventing Dingy Harry from passing the libs gun grab.
