Haven't posted much. A few weeks back my wife was found with breast cancer. Had surgery the 19th for removal. Came thru good so far. Still have to have reconstruction done. Still to face 6 months of kemo (sp) so will not be too much riding. Her handle is know as CoolBreeze. So one day at a time. We all read about this all the time, but hits hard when it comes to your love ones. She is a real trooper with a good attitude. So to all out there going thru any type cancer I hope for a quick recovery and live cancer free.

David I am sorry Coolbreeze has to go through this, but attitude is one of the keys to survival.  They are doing great things these days, and the outlook is not what it used to be.   Dont be afraid to take an active role, and dont take for granted what the doctors are telling you.  Reasearch it out and make sure there isnt a better way.  Will add you guys to our prayers.  Ive been fighting a very rare type of mesothelioma for 5 years now, and prostate cancer before that.  Believe me these things are beatable.  If things get bad check out MD Anderson in Houston.  I am in stage three of an experimental program there now, a lab rat so to speak, and it seems to be working so far.   Good luck guys and keep us posted  how it goes.  If you need someone to talk to thats been around the cancer block, pm me your number and I will call you.

Thanks guys for all the replies. Wasn't going to post this, but needed to. The bad part is that a lot of fellow member has and still dealing with cancer. I know since this has happened my outlook has changed a lot. We take for granted about tomorrow, but tomorrow might not be there. Seeing my wife and how strong she is unbelievable. I don't know how I would have handled it.

Sory to hear this, It brings up many things about when my daughter was diagnosed with breast cancer eighteen years ago plus.
Aaron is now 17, she was pregnant with him at that time. They are both fine today. I thank God for that and pray for the same for your wife, you and tour family.

Although I have no words of wisdom, please know that you and Kathy (Coolbreeze) are in my thoughts and prayers.  Cancer is an evil foe that must be fought tooth and nail until it's conquered and driven out of the body.  Stay strong for her and know, we're all pulling for both of you.

If she's willing and able, take her out for a little wind, wine and dinner once in a while.  Love, support and attention to the small details go a long way beating this bastard disease.

Prayers and thoughts from Iowa for a FULL recovery.

It is tough to go through.     I was about 17 when my mom was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.     That would of been year 1949.     They removed both breast at Creighton Med Center, and bless her soul, she lived to a ripe age of 89.

So with prayer and thoughts, she lasted another 40 years.   She grew up on a farm during the deprecation, she was a tough, salty gal.

Not only did she lose her breasts, she lost my Dad on Iwo Jima.

She always said God was testing her for something big.     Don't know what that 'Big'  would of been unless it was her 1st grand child....

She was strict when I was growing up, but she was full of Love.   I'm glad she was strict, it kept me on the good side of the Law.

Thoughts are with you both, and your family.  Attitude is everything now.  The right frame of mind can physically heal as well.  Looks like she's looking at it the right way... Bless you both.

When my wife found hers was real small. Within 3 weeks it had grown to a stage 2. Doctor real sure he got it all. Just got back from the reconstruction doctor and got to have a skin graph on Thursday.
