I do my rear end mntn every March since it is roughly 8k when I do it. This spring it had 16k on it when I took it apart. I didnt do it last yr since I was to hung over to attempt it!  For having 16k everything looked great. 16 k was pushing it but still looked good.
Anyway I took my seat of to get started, yes I was a tad hung over but it was tolerable  ;D , and what do I find laying on my battery box? My rachet with a 14 mm socket attached to it! When I took the seat off last year to 'begin' I must have left it there. I looked all summer and winter for it since I needed it alot of the time. It took a 13 State tour last summer and I didnt even know it!  ;D

I once lost a flash light working on a customer's washing machine. Three years later I was back in the house and found it stuck to the inside of the washer (magnetic). Still worked too.

DIGGER

couple years ago my brtoher and family were going from Houston to Durango on vacation.    About to leave he couldn't find his glasses.    Finally gave up and left without them.........found them in Durango on the back bumper of his truck......those eye glasses rode about 1600 miles sitting on the bumper of his truck.....amazing.

G-Man

Was taking pictures with a brand new camera last year.  I rested the camera in that valley where the windshield wipers hide on my Mercury and left it there.  Next day I drove 35 miles to work and I noticed the camera sitting there as I got out of the car.  It's black so in blended right in with the black plastic tray in theat valley.

old2soon, ya beat me to that question to Mark.

Several years ago, my wife was putting on her makeup getting ready to go out to eat.

Got done and couldn't find her glasses.    I saw them on top of her head, but decided to play along with her.     She discovered them on her forehead as we were walking into the restaurant.     Oh was she pissed at me for that one.

She hooted and hollered about me not telling her.    I replied, hey, I watched them all the way over here and they never moved.    She just grinned and said okay, I owe ya one.

RJ, my wife does the same thing, has to take her glasses in for adjustment about once a month. Constantly on her head. So one day I see her looking all over the house, obviously searching for something and getting a bit put out over it. I finally asked her....she's looking for her glasses. She gave up and dug out her old prescription to wear while writing some checks. When done, shoved those glasses up to the top of her head, only to find the other pair already there. Yes, I got properly fussed at as well, but it was worth it just to have something to tell her sisters behind her back. They love it because they'll take it and run with it until she catches on that she's been told on. Then I get fussed at again.

I think all of us have misplaced an item or two in our lifetime, some more than others.  It really pisses me off once I do find it though.  Dad always told me as a kid, it is where you last placed it, dah!

All of last summer I could not find my favorite bungee cord and went without all summer long.  I knew it was in the basement and should've been on the shelf, but just a few weeks ago I found it after wasting several hours searching in the basement in the basement laying on top of a cardboard box.  Irked me for sure!  :tickedoff:

Got gas in MO last yr, took my time while a storm in front of me moved further. Went in and rested against a isle and ate some jerky. Went to mount up and decided to check my bag for my wallet. Not in there! Left it on the shelf I leaned up against. Whew. 2 gas stops later in Ill I could not find my cards to use at the pump. Somehow it was in my vest pocket and I thought I left it at the station 140 miles back.  :o But I do stick a card in my shield pouches just in case something happens to my wallet. To many close calls!

I've had that happen a couple of times.

Yesterday I wanted my loom tape out in the back garage.

Started out there and my neighbor stopped me to talk about our lot line and what he had in mind.    We got done, I'd forgot what I went out there for in the 1st place.      Remembered it about 3 hours ago tonight.   I got dressed and went and got the tape.    Now tomorrow, I can re-wrap the sponge on my O2 tanks I carry.   My luck I'll forget where I put it, or the wife will find a drawer for it in the kitchen.     She has more junk drawers in her massive amount of drawers.    Several of them are empty and have never been used.   Told her I was going to bring stuff in from the garage so I'd know where they were.   She just looked me directly in the eye, and said are you tired of living?     Said NOPE, she then said well you better remember that for the next time you get a stupid idea in your head on my cupboard drawers.

we use to have 160 acres of woods when i was younger.  my father use to go for walks out there alot.  one day he had to relieve himself, #2, so he did his business, did his "leaf" work, then left.  well, without knowing it, his wallet fell out of his pants pocket!!  he found it A YEAR LATER!!! his wallet was weathered, but still had everything in it.

my father also use to put down things then forget about them.

i was cutting fire wood, in the same woods, when i came across a crescent wrench and chainsaw spark plug/screwdriver wrench sitting on a stump my father had cut down YEARS earlier.  he use to blame us kids for losing his tools all the time!
