1998 Magna Carb Problems

Since I bought the Valk I haven't been using my 98 Magna. Several months ago I cleaned the carbs but never tried to start it. Most of the jets were stopped up.  It been sitting with no gas in the carbs. The gas line has been disconnected from the carbs.

Today I connected the gas line and started it up. It ran pretty good, but one of the floats is stuck open. Is there any was to unstick this float without taking it apart again?

Rap the carburetor with the handle of a screwdriver with the gas being "on".

After letting the bike sit for a couple of days with gas in the carbs, I started it up and, guess what, no gas leak due to a stuck  float valve. The gas with some added Seafoam must have unstuck the float valve. It was a good day.

Sometimes the float gets cocked sideways when filled from dry.

T Rex, I had a feeling that the float valve might be jammed or cocked sideways. I guess sitting in the gas for a couple of days freed it up. I was planning to try more tapping on the carb, but it came loose.
