I know of some 8-10 Valkyrie riders in the area. I am not trying to start a chapter, but would be interested in meeting fellow riders in maybe 3-4 weeks from now at a Starbucks for coffee or a city park to bs about our rides and perhaps make it a monthly/quarterly event. Would be a good way to find out about wrench skills, riding habit, etc.

I will keep this thread bumped to the top every few days for visibility and maybe look to the last two weeks in May for a get together......

Mike!!!!....I would love to swap lies about that trip. Did you make a return trip this winter to check out Alaska's winter scenery?

I am thinking about sometime in the last two weeks in May.....probably on a weekend since I suspect several folks are working during the week.

Hi Valkcurious..... Petaluma is a often stretch break when we head out to the coast for oysters.....or dungeness crab!

I have a Valkyrie, and as of 4 days ago my wife got a Valkyrie trike. We live in the Modesto area about an hour south of Sacramento. I also ride with a few Valkyrie owners that don't frequent this board. Let's see what you can make happen!

My work schedule is very busy in May but, I will do my best to be there. The last weekends are the best for me but, I am only one person. I hope to see everyone there. I did 5 months in South America on the Valk in 2007. Started in Brasil, down to the bottom of Argentina then back to Southern California, about 22,000 miles total. We did Deadhorse again in 2010 and returned on the ferry. They were both awesome trips. Safe winds to all!

Glad you got that trike, it's a beaut! Lemme know when you wanna go for a ride again, the last ride was great. I did about 350 miles that day

It's looking like it might be Saturday, May 25th and still thinking about a location. Will post a definite date, time, location in a couple of weeks.....

There are a couple of British chaps that do monster rides like you, they have a couple of books and dvd titles "Long Way Down" and "Long Way Round". Difference is they have a humungous support staff and camera crew in case something goes wrong. My friend and I have talked about another Alaska gig and do the ferry thing.....but first I want to do a Pikes Peak run....did your last Deadhore run require snow chains?

I've figured the 25th to be the date. I will head out about noonish on Friday ride most of the way and find a place to camp Friday night. I will ride the hack this trip (99 I/S with Motorvation Spyder sidecar). I will meet you guys on Saturday and dink around there on Saturday and probably head home Sunday morning. I will bring some pictures of my South America and Alaska trips. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

The thought at this time is to meet in maybe Antioch or San Ramon (to be decided) in a shopping center parking lot where we can be off to ourselves but also have a variety of restaurants to choose fro,.....pizza, burgers, whatever. For those coming from the valley or up north, maybe meet up with me in Rio Vista at McDonald's and ride down together.

No ride is planned once we meet, its just a meet and greet kind of thing, spend a couple of hours bs'ing about the bikes, then pick a place for a late lunch.

More exact details to follow in a few weeks, but the idea is to arrive at the 'meet and greet' location about noon on Saturday May 25th, then about 2:00 p.m. we decide on a place for lunch, take a bunch of pictures and probably break up about 4 p.m.

Once the exact place is determined, we can determine a time for those meeting me in Rio Vista to arrive at McDonald's..

I have never been to a "Gathering of the Valks" and am looking forward to meeting everyonr

WOW! I need to log on and actually read threads more often.... has been abnormally ((had a few calls and 1 call lasted over an hour) Stanford University IT services owl shift) busy at work tonight and working alone makes it even busier.

Hey Matt sucks about work. Midnights is rough and being alone sucks even more. What's up with the carbs? It's time for that wrench party!

For sure we can ride up together. I will meet you in San Jose. I'll see if Carter wants to go too.

My bike definitely needs some work on the front end, it wobbles pretty good. May also need a new tire too. Damn. Got on it the throttle the other day and it must have slipped a gear because the rev limiter hit and the bike freaked out yikes!

Had to buy a new wire harness for a set of trunk lights. One light kept going out and when I tried to fix it they both stopped working lol. New harness in and no problems...see I did learn from you.

Can't wait to see those ar's when they are done. Hope you and the family are good. My days off are changing May 5th Fri-Sun off. Maybe we can do a ride soon.

Welcome Mapper....Seaside is just a bit too far south for the motley old crew I ride with once a month in Rio Vista.....nice country there tho.....
