Well, it happened. Duct Tape and I were headed to see Sean Hannity in The Woodlands, headed north on 45. The traffic slowed down to to about 35 mph. I was crusing along,everything was good when the front end of my bike started wobbleing. I thought it was the grooved pavement but it got worse. I flagged Duct Tape up next to me and asked him if my tires looked OK. He motioned for me to exit the freeway.... YIKES ...all of the sudden I could hardley controll the front end of the bike. I had to cross 4 lanes of traffic. I made it to the exit ramp and stopped. Duct tape pulled up past me and parked. I was standing there on the side of I-45 north...near West RD, it must of been close to 100 outside, when there on the horizon was a black I/S coming right towards me. I gave a little wave, the driver looked over , he saw me... I saw him (here's the kicker)..... he kept going. No worries..... went to Cycle Gear got it taken care of and was back on the road. I even made it to Sean Hannity on time.

Hey Maris ,been there and done that having a flat tire .... since then I have put some tire sealant and I keep on hand a small air compressor along with my tire plugs and glue .... one day I just happen to be at a bar and grill here in SA and this fellow on his VTX1800 had a flat on his rear tire and was thinking about laying it on one side to take the tire off ... I told him what I had and wham bam thank you mame I had him on the road with his group again ... so Maris think about having some plugs, glue and a small compressor on hand for those WHAT IF times ... you never know .. just think Maris , it could of been worse , it could have been raining ... ride safe lady

I went to see Sean Hannity the Great American who has raised millions of dollars for a scholarship fund for the children of veterans ( American Heros) who have been killed or seriously injured in action. It was quite the evening with Lee Greenwood, Billy Ray Cyrus, Rick Perry, Oliver North, Kay Bailey Hutchinson and a whole bunch of heros!

Next meeting, remind me, and I'll show you my tire plugger kit.  ~35 bucks from JCWhitney.  I've had good luck with it.  That plus a $10 dollar miniature compressor makes me fairly self-sufficient, without much space taken up.  The plugger doesn't make the mess that tire slime does, and I've heard that slime does bad things to your rims, but can't confirm.

the inflaters are great but make sure your battery is good or leave engine on .Maris glad you are ok. nothing worth than the front tyre! no control!

Don't use Slime if you have a choice. It will eat your rims.If you do your own tire changing, you'll see what I mean.

These guys sell a complete tire repair kit.  I bought one a while back which I have not used in an emergency situation like you had, but have used the gauge and the pump in the garage, and they work really well.  It is kind of pricey, though - I got it when business was real good!

I don't know if he posted, but he put that green goey stuff in the "new" tire he bought for the rear.... he thought he'd "wait "to put in in the front when he replaced that tire...... speaking of being replaced...... j/k!

Not necessarily cheap but considering the alternative (stuck on the side of the road or worse) its a good investment.

I have heard nothing but amazing things about that pump.  Worth every penny from everyone that has owned one.  No waiting, especially an empty car tire like some of us have.
