As many of you know, I have been Jones'in' for a dragon for sometime. Deployment, health issues and the big dee have all conspired against me till now.....

While in Gatlinburg, I had the opportunity to test drive one but, I was SORELY DISAPPOINTED....  :'(
Very unresponsive, Felt crowded in the set, controls  were a mess...

I did like the color scheme and there was NO DOUBT it was a dragon.... But, I had to pass....

That's what I got too, Jess. I'm gonna guess this post was in jest and that the OP didn't ride a "REAL" Valkyrie(dragon).

It was probably a Dragon ride outside a grocery store... ;D

If it was unresponsive, must of had 2-3 plug wires pulled?  ;D

I'm glad I am not the ONLY one NOT to EVER use facebook.  I think, for my needs anyways, it is the most stupid thing ever invented.  All it does is cause havoc among our younger generation MY kids included.

Ya, something was wrong with that bike, or the OP is just messing with us.   :coolsmiley:

Who gives a crap what this non-Valkyrie owner thinks about a Valkyrie and why are you guys playing into his hand?  Why do you feel the need to convince him, or make excuses for a bike that he "says" he sat on once?

Played into his hand?  I guessed he didn't ride a Valk in my post. Interestingly enough, it's in YOUR post that you assumed he was talking about a Valkyrie.. His original thread mentioned nothing about a Valkyrie.

Thank You G-man...
I have been a member of this board for about 5 years now...
I joined when I was in Afghanistan... At the time, My goal was to get a Valkyrie when I got deployed back...
Well, you wanta' hear God laugh, tell him your plans.... I got injured and med-evacted out and spent 2 1/2 years getting put back together... Six months into which, my wife told me she didn't want to be "stuck taking care of a cripple for the rest of her life" and took me to the cleaners... further setting back the purchase....

In that time, I have found that the members of this board have been extremely helpful in providing insight as to what to look for and in purchasing a Valkyrie and other questions...  I HAVE ENJOYED THE COMRADESHIP OF MANY HERE.... Even though I don't yet have a VALKYRIE (though I am test riding one tonight or tomorrow)..., OR that I've even had a chance to ride my lowly Magna with them....

The picture is a joke that one of my friends ( a Harley Rider) took of a dragon kiddy ride... We thought it was funny and I thought I'd share. Unfortunately, the link to the picture did not work...

I guess my question is, after having spent four years going to school in up state New York and having made the mistake of marrying a girl from there ( a mistake I quickly corrected) what makes you think I'd give a righteous rodent's rectum what you think?

But I will, Thank you for confirming that not all arrogant, conceited, Holier than though folks ride a Harley....

Have a good day.

Thanks for your service to our country !  I sincerely hope you do get a Valkyrie ! After what you've been through and the sacrifices you've made, you more than deserve that at the very least !

Yes, Welcome home and Thank you for your service and sacrifice.  If your ever in MI look me up and We'll go for a ride, I'll lend you one of my valks if you promise to pay for any damages.

I suspected your post was a joke when you mentioned that you found the dragon underpowered, at that point I knew you weren't on a Valkyrie.

I hope your injuries aren't permanently disabling and that your transition to civilian life is going well.

G-Man, I think an apology is in order.  Just because the guy doesn't have a Valkyrie doesn't make his comments or posts any less valuable.  It was a joke for goodness sakes.

If global warming is happening...why is it so cold up here?

Getting back to why you wrote the post that started this thread:  That's why you did a test ride.  Don't give up so easy!  There are quite a few out there for sale.  Even though I have not been a member as long as you have.  I have found my ride.  Sorry some folks feel the need to lash out and vent if they feel  their favorite ride has been dissed.  I am sure that was not your intent.  Maybe somebody got up on the wrong side of the bed?  Keep on looking and keep us posted on your future findings.  Thanks for your service and welcome home.  Remember:  if you can survive all you've been through, you can survive anything.

RainMaker

Liberty, sometimes jokes fall flat and as with email, you can't tell the inflection or intent of a posted message as you can with a spoken word.

Would still like to see the picture.

And, as others have said, thank you for your sacrifices for our country.

Keep looking for that Valkyrie.  When the right one sees you, she will adopt you as her human!

Liberty Bell....even without being able to view your pic, I thought something was up.
It sucks that your attempt to give us a laugh didn't come through but we appreciate the attempt.

And as others have already stated, thanks for your Service. Someday the right Valkyrie will cross paths with you. I hope it's soon.

No doubt if you ever make it to Inzane, there's a few of us that would be more than happy to buy you a refreshment or two.  :cooldude:

This happens pretty regularly , funny to see em eat crow ! My wifes Magna is a blast to ride but a little small for me . Nothing lowly about it , its a great bike !

Liberty Bell,

I thought your pic was pretty damn funny!  I don't know a single person who can navigate through life without offending someone at some point.  No malice intended, then no big deal, right?

Some people get offended simply to get offended.  I don't care what anyone thinks about my Valk, I'm the one who rides it... the best part of my day away from the family is riding my "dragon."

The dragon you rode looks like one of those California eco-friendly electric type things... you've got to get on a real Valk!  :)

You've had your share of crud. I'm very proud you had the stones do serve and have my graditude. Oh and once I saw the picture it did crack me up. Keep posting and follow that dream as I see a Valkyrie in your near future.

That's a funny pic  -- good one.

Hope you find a valk you like, very good bike for the price you pay.

Still don't like facebook though and never will use it or sign up for it in my lifetime.

A perfectly done humor post, ruined by the fact that a lot of folks don't use facebook.  Good one.  And sounds like a picture is better done without facebook, at least on this board.  ;)  ;D  Hoser

Well, I just pulled the trigger..... Or maybe I should say the checkbook this evening......  :D

On Monday at noon, I will take delivery of a Red & Black, 2000 Interstate that has been trike'd with a Lehman's kit with just under 33K miles... It has been EXTREMELY well cared for....  New tires.... Not as much chrome as I'd have expected but will give me room to customize to my own liking....

Unfortunately, by the time I got there this evening, there wasn't time to arrange a bank to bank transfer. Also, my insurance carrier was already closed for the weekend... And considering I had minor surgery this morning, I probably didn't need to be on a strange bike three hours from home with no insurance.... SO, he is delivering Monday so we can take care of the transfer stuff and other administrative issues.

I test drove it down an old country road.... The thing shifts very crisply. Starts very easily.
As it was the first time I was ever on a trike, it is going to take a little getting use to... Putting ones feet down and attempting to walk a tight turn is not required and can in fact be somewhat hazardous... Taking curves is WAY different.... But, it is just a learning curve...... :cooldude:

The thing is a MASSIVE bike.... And this is from a guy who learned to ride at 16 on a '67 Harley Electra Glide.... Th freaking raw power is amazing! I can see where if one is not careful or disrespects that thing it can and will be most unforgiving....

So, instead of riding this weekend, I am going to be doing IMPORTANT things to prepare.... :coolsmiley:

--- Cleaning her a spot in the garage.....
--- Finding her a fitting name........
--- Ordering those chrome pieces that are missing.....
--- Trying to figure out where to go on tht first shake-down ride....
