His name is Pat Noll he comes to " The Fall Color Ride " every year with his friend and ridin' bud Jim ( Slacker ) . We met with Jim today its a long story however it does appear his back wheel locked down and he went off the road hitting a tree. Please keep Pat's family in your thoughts and prayers he was married and had two son's both in their early 20's.I've looked through my pictures ( over 4,000 on this computer ) and can't find a picture of Pat but I know I have a couple from around the fire-pit at Miss Reba's. If anyone has one please post or send to me if you are unable to post and I'll get it on the board. jojovols@comcast.net

This was Jim's longtime friend they was in the service together and ridin' buds for years ... Sad news  :'(  Pat and Jim always went with the " spirited rider's " on The Fall Color Ride.... Below is from the local TV station on the accident.

WBIR-Blount County) The Blount County Sherriff's Department has identified the victim killed in a Saturday night crash on "The Dragon."

Sheriff James Lee Berrong said Patrick Brian Noll, 46, of Dallas, Georgia, had passed a slower bike and started slowing down for a left-hand curve when the rear wheel locked.

Noll went into a straight line skid and flew off the motorcyle into a large tree.

He was wearing a Department of Transportation compliant motorcylce helmet.

The Sheriff's Office Traffic Safety Unit is investigating the fatal crash.

I've seen alot of people that thought they were cool , but then again Lord I've seen alot of fools.

Joe do you know what kind of bike Pat was riding?
Let those who ride decide.

OMG! I knew Pat, he lived west of Atlanta in Dallas/Acworth. So terrible.

He was a good rider. I think he still rode a sportbike, right Joe?

Really? Dead? Wow. That really sucks.

We've been seeing him at the FCR for several years now.

That is him just ahead from 2009 Fall Color Ride.

Master Blaster

Sorry to hear, thoughts and prayers for his folks, never had the pleasure, but he sounds like one of the good guys.  The ZZR is a fine bike, like the Valk, very fast and a little dated with lots of character, it has carburetors. More a sport tour than a pure sport and handles great.

Found this from a Knoxville news station:
Georgia motorcyclist dead after crashing on The Dragon
Posted: Aug 03, 2013 10:54 PM EDT

Officials say one man died from injuries sustained in the crash.

MARYVILLE (WATE) - A Georgia motorcyclist is dead after wrecking Saturday evening on The Dragon at mile marker 10.

Patrick Noll, 46 of Dallas, Ga., passed a slower motorcyclist shortly after 7:00 p.m., according to the Blount County Sheriff's Department. His rear wheel locked, causing the motorcycle to skid.

Noll was ejected from the motorcycle and hit a tree. The motorcycle continued to roll down the embankment and also hit a tree.

Noll was pronounced dead at Blount Memorial Hospital. Deputies say he was wearing a helmet.

The Dragon is an area of U.S. Highway 129 frequented by motorcyclists due to its high number of curves.

My first funeral since my father in law died 9 years ago.

The PGR were first class.

15 representatives, male and female. Very courteous, polite, discrete and "professional". They are a wonderful representation of ex and current members of the Armed Forces along with sympathetic non military motorcycle riders. There was a lady in attendance, who may have been in her early 70's, who stood proudly with flag for the whole service.

Next time you slam a Harley rider just pause and reflect that they may be a PGR member.

It certainly has changed my perspective.
