Since the big "O" has become our glorious leader, our country has become the laughing stock of the world.  Now Al-Qaeda says Boo, and he closes 22 Embassys across the Mid East.  What kind of message is this to the rest of the world????? :( :( :(

Gun controll is not about guns, its about CONTROLL.

Patrick

Well, whats to be expected. When our leader will bow to these dick-heads what else can be expected. Rather than add a bit more security and make a good show of it, he tucks his tail and runs. This guy steps on his 'short arm' every time he does anything or opens his mouth.

Pappy!

Would almost rather have the Embassy closures than risk losing more Americans and having the Idiot in Chief call the incident another "bump in the road"  Four Americans killed and he calls it no more than a "Bump in the road"???

Master Blaster

Yes thats true, but then Ben Laden is dead and Al-Qaeda is on the run lest we forget.

Sad truth is, al queada is stronger than ever and 3 times the size it was at bin ladens demise....all because we just wont leave. Pack the boys up and bring them home. Let those people kill each other off....

Don't kid yourself. When we leave they will follow us home. Their goal is taking over the entire world, not their little piece of sand.

They are setting up camp here, and we are making it as comfortable as we possibility can.

I agree with abandoning the region. Let them all kill each other. But, we need to step up our security here and stop letting anyone and everyone setup camp here. We spend an awful lot of time and money helping others feel at home here by making "here" just like the toilet they left. Assimilate or stay in your own stinking crap hole.

Patrick

If we are going to fight a war, I wish we would rather than just trying to be liberators.
I too think we should get out and control who comes into this country.
We could easily isolate ourselves. We'd have a hell of a lot more money and could fix a lot of our problems here at home as well as become the new 'middle-east' regarding oil and gas if we got our head out of our rear-end and started drilling and refining. I think we need oil and gas for a couple more decades until hydrogen becomes affordable. If we did this I think the middle east would go back to living in tents and herding camels. Maybe then they wouldn't have the time or money to spread their stupid version of that religion.

The obumminaters true frikkin colors are showin thru now more than ever. We should give him to the terrorist faction he so dearly loves WITHOUT any American money. If him and his lady were to disappear I won't miss them one iota. We have laws that work for us already-we fer damn sure don't need or want sharia law. RIDE SAFE.

Sheesh !  If the embassies had been ready and at minimum staff with exposed increased security forces I doubt an attack would have taken place. Even if it had, the increased force would have put a stop to anything which would have sent a positive message. JMHO though.

Embassies by and large have minimal security. They are not military outposts. They rely on the host nation for security.

Yes, he told us in advance what he planned to do. Few were listening.

The following is a narrative   taken from a 2008 Sunday morning televised "Meet   The Press'.
From Sunday's 07 Sept. 2008 11   : 48 : 04 EST, Televised "Meet the Press" THE   THEN Senator Obama was asked about his stance on   the American Flag.
General Bill Gann' USAF (ret.)   asked Obama to explain WHY he doesn't follow   protocol when the National Anthem is   played.
TheGeneral stated to Obama that   according to the United States Code, Title 36,   Chapter 10, Sec.   171...
During rendition of the   national anthem, when the flag is displayed, all   present (except those in uniform) are expected   to stand at attention facing the flag with the   right hand over the heart. Or, at the very   least, "Stand and Face It".
NOW GET THIS !!
'Senator
Obama replied :
"As I've said about the flag   pin, I don't want to be perceived as taking   sides". "There are a lot of people in the world   to whom the American flag is a symbol of   oppression.." "The anthem itself conveys a   war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting   in air and all that sort of   thing."
(ARE YOU READY FOR   THIS???)
Obama continued : "The National   Anthem should be 'swapped' for something less   parochial and less bellicose. I like the song   'I'd Like To Teach the World To Sing'. If that   were our anthem, then, I might salute it. In my   opinion, we should consider reinventing our   National Anthem as well as 'redesign' our Flag   to better offer our enemies hope and love. It's   my intention, if elected, to disarm   Americato the level of acceptance to our   Middle East Brethren. If we, as a Nation of   warring people, conduct ourselves like the   nations of Islam, where peace prevails - - -   perhaps a state or period of mutual accord could   exist between our governments   ...."
When   I
become President, I will seek a   pact of agreement to end hostilities between   those who have been at war or in a state of   enmity, and a freedom from disquieting   oppressive thoughts. We as   a Nation, have placed upon the nations   of Islam,   an unfair injustice which   is WHY my wife disrespects the Flag and   she and I have attended several flag burning   ceremonies in the   past".
"Of course now, I have found myself about to   become
the President of the United States and I have put my   hatred aside. I will use my power to bring   CHANGE to this Nation, and offer the people a   new path.My wife and I look forward to   becoming our Country's First black Family.   Indeed,CHANGE is about to overwhelm   the United States of America   "

Thats my point !  Requests for increased American security at benghazi was asked for early in 2012 and was refused. If sufficient American forces had been sent in response to the new threats, we could give a good show of force and I think any threat would be rethought. I'm sure I'm probably wrong again though.

Being one of the few, if not the only persons adding to this thread, to have served as a Marine Security Guard (MSG) for four out of the seven years as a Marine, let me explain the duties of an MSG at our US Embassies.

First in order to become a MSG, you must first be accepted as a Marine (duh, but not a lot of people get that opportunity).  If selected by your Commending Officer, you may apply to the MSG school in Quantico Virginia.   A very demanding School that has a washout rate of about 70%.  Part of the training is also done at the FBI academy in Quantico.

Since there are a lot of misinformed opinions here, I'll keep this short.  The Marines at all U.S. embassies and consults are not there to fight a war.   We were there to repel any outside force that wanted to gain access to the classified areas of the embassy and to protect people and equipment vital to the State Department's operations.   "The primary mission of the Marine Security Guard (MSG) is to provide internal security at designated U.S. diplomatic and consular facilities in order to prevent the compromise of classified material vital to the national security of the United States."

We were not authorizes to engage enemy combatants outside the embassy unless they poised an eminent threat against American personnel and only if authorized by the State Department's Security Officer.  We were there to delay entry of anyone trying to force their way in until the Host County sent reinforcements and/or all classified stuff was destroyed.  As it is in every County that the US has an embassy, it is the Host County's responsibility to protect the foreign embassies in its county.

Yes, some can do it better than others and Yes some don't do it at all when is convenience for them not too (Iran).

There is very little a MSG can do if a raghead wants to blow up a truck in front of the building or if the Host government want to teacher the US a lesson by letting the population burn down a building, but if the embassy is closed and less Americans are there to get hurt, the easier the Marines mission becomes.

So if Obama, the President and Commander in Chief says close down the embassies for a week due to creditable Intel, I fully support him in his decision to save lives.

Of course I am sure there are those who feel they know better, and for them I would happy get you an American flag you can wave outside of any US embassy in the Middle East and yell how bad ass you are.

God Bless the Men and Women serving in the U.S. Arm force tonight and may they all make it home safely.

I'm with most here, pull the troops out entirely since that whole area has 100's of years of history that will never be changed by a mere 5-10 years of having our troops over there dying for what????

I'm gonna throw out a curve ball here.  And I admit, this is just supposition on my part.  But what if this is simply a ploy by our Government to take the attention away from all of the record keeping that is under fire now by Homeland Security so they can say "see American's, we can justify our record keeping of when you call your grandmother so we can better protect you."  What if this threat is simply made up so they can continue this record keeping and silence the ones that protest this?  I don't have much confidence in our government after the last several years and I guess that lack of confidence is to blame for theories such as this developing, but what if my supposition is true?  Who knows.....

musclehead

I'd much rather save American lives by pulling out then risk another ben gahzi.

one does wonder what the credible threat is.

...and to distract attention away from all the "phoney scandels"? Your suspicion is very plausible and I wouldn't put it past this crooked-ass administraton

Good point. I've thought about that myself and thought maybe I'm the only one that likes a good conspiracy. Glad to see I'm not alone, maybe I'm not going crazy after-all. I don't trust this admin at all and wouldn't put anything past them.

Quotehe closes 22 Embassys across the Mid East.  What kind of message is this to the rest of the world??

They are in harms way if we drop a bomb on their rear ends. Think about it,  it is what I would do, get all Americans out, sling a bomb or two over the fence.....
