due to the excellent performance specs of this stuff (a super lube)  has anyone used int in the crank?  wouldn't it make the clutch slip being a superior lube?  thanks for any info

Used for several years on a Suzuki GSX1100 and it was fine, never any clutch issues.  I had always used Golden Spectro but it became hard to find (not to mention expensive) and because I worked at NAPA the rep kept me supplied.

I'm on my second round of Royal Purple in the Rumblebee.  I went 7,500 miles on the first interval with 10-40 + Honda filter.  I sampled the used oil and sent it to Blackstone Labs and they recommended I go 8,500 miles on the next interval.  I'm using 20-50 + Purolator PL14610 in the second interval with no problems at all.

I'm also on my first Royal Purple + PL14610 on the 'wing.

I use Royal Purple and have used it in all my bikes and have not used motorcycle specific either I work on Tugboats and it is what we use on the boats and the boss lets us have it for free  ..

I have used it in all types of bikes from Vstar to VLX to my Magna and now the Valk it has given me no troubles whatsoever I have put the RP gearlube in the pumpkin and plan on using the RP grease on the splines and shaft when I tear them down in the next couple of weeks.

I like seeing the results of the other oils and which ones failed what tests, and using it as a guide.
RP left the largest wear scar of the 4 ball test, which translates the wear of the rockers on the valve tips and the wear of the rockers and cam shafts, yet RP had zero wear in the gear test.
RP failing the volatility test is also a concern as this will lead to increase sludge formation inside the engine and sludging up the piston ring packs causing excessive oil consumption over time.

Oil analysis is the only way to truely know if ones oil pick is working for their vehicle application.
