Wondering what if anyone thinks about the wooden beads on the seat?! TIA.

I think there ugly.  Go for a woolie. I was skeptical till i got a set. Monkey butt is dramatically reduced.

I have done it all... gel pad, Airhawk, Alaska sheepskin, Mustang seat, special undies (no, not that "special"), foam sculpting of an old seat... etc. He**, I even have a pad that is sheepskin - over gel - over memory foam  ???

It all depends on what your problem is... for pressure points/numbness, etc... beads work pretty good.. as you shift around on the seat , they move pressure around a bit... it certainly helps, but doesn't cure the problem.

Now, where beads really shine is with perspiration problems "south of the equator", if you know what I mean. That is/was my biggest dilemma. I use Gold Bond powder and when you ride sitting on the beads, you can actually feel the air current under your dupa. After 400 miles, I am still fresh as a daisy, as far as perspiration.

On long rides where I'll be on the road for days I put a Diamond seat on the bike. It's hard and flat with less than half an inch squoosh, it is a great seat. I can actually get off the bike and stand up straight with no pains whatsoever tankful after tankful stops.

All those cushy seats stink when it comes to long distance riding. And they look like crap too.

My everyday riding seat is a stock seat covered in leather. It's too soft for distance riding.

I also have a custom solo seat that's looks like a buddy seat from the old days. Ride two up on one seat.

I tried the beads for a while and they do allow for great air flow, but they also scuff the seat a lot after time. When I took the beads off for the winter, my seat looked like a checker board. I use sheepskin for all my bikes since then. It is cooler, allows for a bit of air flow, and is really nice when the bike has been in the sun cooking for a few hours.

I got the seat beads from wally world and cut them to size. Be careful if you do that, as some of the beads will come off. Fishing line worked great to keep it shaped and attached.

Yeah they're ugly, but like "PTGB" said -They work.
I bought a car seat cover several years ago to use cross country at Wallys World.
It covers both seats. It lets your "dupa" move just enough and keeps it/you cool.
In high temps [like Taos N.M. in August  103 degrees] it protects you from butt burn when you sit down after the bike has sat a while in the sun.
I also bought a  wooden bead "place mat" for a couple bucks. It's black, fits one seat, works great.

Thanks for the ideas as always.........my issue also, mainley is the summer heat here in TX....I end up feeling like one of the soggy bottom boys after an hr or so.....Watch out for the cell phones........Paul.

My thoughts on wooden beads...Without the beads my butt a bit sore all over...with the beads, I still get sore but it is in a whole bunch of spots.

All it really does for me is keep things a bit cooler south of the border

Tried the beads.  After 150 miles of bumpy highway, stopped for gas, coudn't find the beads

Got my beads at beadrider   I think if you  google in beadrider you will see what I mean.  These are the best thing I have found and I tried sheepskin, gel, airhawk, etc, etc.  Oh yeah, no affiliation

I have a pad with the wooden beads. Mine has the sheepskin over the bead. Got them at Inzne 9 and I love them. Have been on a couple long rides and they work great. I took them off and after about 1 hours my ass was hurting.

I picked up one of those $20 gel seat pads that Wallyworld carries back in automotives. Works well as a change of pace.
