Cross-country trip with newly installed darkside

I read here a lot, but haven't posted much.

Darksided my 99IS last week and took it to work a few trips,  65 mi each way.
Love it. Put a Sumic GT60A  205-60-16 on. Best tread pattern that I could find in stock locally. $83!

Left home last Saturday at 436 am and spent the first night in Rayville, La, arrived there about 9 pm local time.  I had rain until Augusta, Ga or so.

Next day I waylaid at a friend's in Keller, Tx because of the predicted ice storm. Left there mid morning Monday after some melting.  Hit some slushy overpasses around Colorado City, Tx, but no rain the rest of the trip.  Arrived at my son's in Yuma, Az about 530 am Tuesday  morning.

Can't say enough good things about the ride and high speed stability of the car tire.

Probably going to air it down from 40 to 36 psi for the return trip.
I calculated 29 mpg on the legs that I ran in excess of 80 mph.

Thanks to all the Pioneers on this site for all the great Tech. I did remove the nut cages, btw.

only 3 hours or so to the beach you can leave in the morning and be back at your sons for dinner
or watch the sunset over the pacific and come home in time for lunch

Weather looks considerably better for my return to NC. Cold, but no more rain!

I have a lot of folks that look at the car tire and even after they look at it are sorts stunned at the size of the(205 65 16)tire.  THEN I let them in on the cost of the tire(under $85.00)and also tell them how long it lives(one I just replaced just missed 24000 miles.  RIDE SAFE.

I run about 28# in my darkside.  Try it.  If you do not like, air it up higher.

Took your advice and rode it back with 30 psi. 
Much better. Got home this evening.

Pretty cold last night, ended up stopping in Spartanburg, SC at 4 am. Birmingham to there was in the 30s with misty fog in those mountains.

No idea where I stopped the night before, but it said 96 mi. to Ft Worth when I got back on I20, coming east.
