For 6 ish weeks for work to help with a few new municipal contracts. Anyone near by?  Anything to do out there?  Should be working out of the Carnegie PA yard if the info they gave us is correct.

Not from the Carnegie area, but it is right close to town about 10mins..... you can visit the stadiums and the pubs and restaurants on the North Shore (Tilted Kilt, Bettis Grille and others).  Also the Rivers Casino is right down there on the North Shore as well.  

The night time view of the city as you come out of the Fort Pitt Tunnels is pretty neat....  the city just pops in front of you.

Shopping and other restaurants/bars etc are in Robinson Town Center (further out away from town).  

That is the Parkway West and I am out off the Parkway East....

Let me know your schedule when ya can and we can go from there.....

I just watched Pittsburg on that food show where dude eats at the local spots he ate at some awesome looking stops in Pittsburg .... And ten insane wings at the Quaker steak and lube ....

Hit the Strip District on a Saturday (NOT that kind of strip). Lots of shops and food.

While down there, go to the original Primanti Bros. (open 24/7) for their famous sandwiches.

 don't know about Pittsburg, but there is a Tilted Kilt very close to where I live, close enough for a 10 - 15 minute walk.  I have only been a few times, but was there recently to see some football that was not on TV.   Sat at bar, had some food and a couple brews and had fun.  Oh, and here is a pic of my bartender who was nice enough for a pic.  she got a very nice tip.

 I would recommend it for a night you want to see a game and have a bite.

 only complaint was that there was a guy bartending that had a skirt on also.

I grew up in Bethel Park, which is a couple miles from Carnegie.  I have plenty of relatives that still live in the area.  If you need some one to show you around, I can see if they'll hook you up.

Should get a definitive answer in the next week or so. Would be heading out on 12/29 and then be out there for atleast 6 wks from there.  More than likely going to have to make my own transport arrangements. Go figure too cold/snowy to ride....

Go check out Station Square - lots of little shops and restaurants.  The Church Brew Works downtown is also worth a visit.

Pittsburgh is one of my favorite towns!

All suggestions so far are very good. I am a big fan of the Strip District.

If you have some time off and are so inclined, I might suggest the Andy Warhol Museum. Great history of the artist and amazing artwork. Also, there is an "installation" museum called "The Mattress Factory" that is very cool as well. The Carnagie Museum is a great mix of art and natural history.

I also suggest a ride up the Fort Duquene Incline to the top of Mt. Washington. The view of the city from up there is amazing!

We used to have a big Bike Night at Station Square on Thursdays.... they closed the road in front of all the restaurants to bike parking only.  A wonderful spot it was with all the choices to eat/drink and be Merry, and the live band played outside as well.  I miss those..... they stopped it last year unfortunately.  Story has it that the owners were considering selling and didn't want the commitment or to show it with Bike Night in progress.  However, I suspect it was due to some 1percenters and friction between a group or two.  Had it been a "no colors" event it might have been better received... who knows.   It was the best I have seen locally tho.....  we can only hope to get that back some day.
