Myself and some guys from work all are headed to NC to ride the skyline on Saturday and then the hell bender along with the Dragon Sunday. From there I think we will be headed towards Maryville TN and then follow the Cumberland plateau back down towards Dunlap.
It looks like I'll be the only Valk in the group of 5 maybe 6 other HD riders.Hopefully once I/we get there I get to see more valk riders.
I guess I have the bike ready put a new Avon tire on front with dyna Beads, got a travel bag some chaps changed the brake fluids and clutch fluids she's got fresh oil and filter. Now all I need is the week to be over and some really nice weather.
I'll post photos when I return.

I highly recommend you ride at your own pace on those roads....You'll enjoy it more. 8)
I ride a motorcycle because nothing transports me as quickly from where I am to who I am.

Thanks,
I do intend on taking my time and enjoying the ride. I'm not one anymore to zip thru as I use to be. Only owning my bike since 4th july weekend I'm still getting a feel how it handles and sure aint pushing the limit actually I probably hadn't even gotten close.
While there any other places you guys suggest seeing? I'll be coming in from Cleveland Tn following 64/74 into Robbinsville.

I did Cherohala, Tail of the Dragon (killboy pic to the left), The Snake, and part of the Blue Ridge Parkway last summer to and from InZane 8.  Perhaps my favorite road of the entire trip was highway 441 from Gatlinburg, TN to Cherokee, NC.

And you're so close...   :tickedoff:   ;)

On the Cherohala Skyway you will see the word SLO painted in white before one of the bends. HEED IT.

It's a reducing radius curve and it bites people on a regular basis. The view as you come around the curve is also distracting so be doulbe careful please.

Don't forget to look for the sign to Bald River Falls towards the Tellico Plains end of the Skyway. Take the side road out there. It's worth it.

Thanks for the headsup on the curve. I've read about the falls here and plan to make that a must see stop as well. I sure hope those Hurricanes stay east this weekend down below FL
