Got a new alt. couple days ago but have been so busy with work haven't done anything until tonight. OMG!! It was kinda hard getting it out but tracing back the wire to the connector and getting it unhooked was terrible. Took about 30 minutes to get the alt. out , probably took 2&1/2 hours to get the wire disconnected! Man there is so much wiring and stuff compared to my standard. Hopefully I can get it in after work tomorrow .

Ya, they can be a bitch. I usually rotate it once it's lose from the motor and disconnect the wire. Do the same when you put it back in. Not so bad when you've done it about 10 times. LOL

Getting it out is the easy part . Unless the motor is out of the frame that is. Putting it back in was cause for me to almost have a nervous breakdown.

Yeah that's what I did also. It was the small single wire with a snap-on connector that gave me so much trouble, it was routed around different stuff and couldn't see or get to it. Dave when you put a new one back in do you leave the rubber dampers in the engine housing or take them out and put them on the alt. ?

Yeah I`ve read that from a few people. Hopefully it goes ok because I`m not that mentally stable to begin with

Hint:  Spray some WD40 on the dampers prior to install, I left min in the motor.

I leave the dampeners in the motor and spray a little WD40 on them like Skinhead did. I also replace them since I'm in there anyway.
