Surfing safely

Time magazine recently published a couple articles about the "Deep Web".  I had not heard about it.  It's a body of knowledge on the internet where everyone there, and everyone surfing, is anonymous. It uses multiple sequential, distributed relay servers with layers of encryption - nobody knows who anybody is if you don't f up and leak it (or violate their Best Practices concepts). Per the article, the web we know is 19 Terrabytes.  The Deep Web is 7500 Terrabytes.  Or 395 TIMES the size of the known internet.  There is software you can download that's free, that enables you to surf this world completely hidden.  It's called "Tor".  I've just started looking at this, won't say here on this public venue anything more on what I'm doing with it - if anything.  In the words of Shotgun Joe - This is really a Big F'n Deal. Take a look at it.  I'm thinking this is where we are going to stop the gov't snooping.

Times had it right except to say this is where the gov is putting its efforts into cracking. While its not as hidden a vpn is pretty good much easier to deal with also. For most of us this is about all that is needed.
