Great roads everywhere!!! Missed the passed 3 Inzanes (do)  DUE to school. Graduate May 10, hopefully will be on a New Valkyrie by then. Turn 27 on June 9th, would be great to celebrate dragging some pegs with some good friends. Great locations!!!

That area is great to ride. Beautiful scenery, challenging roads, nice people . No disappointments about the area for sure. We probably won't make it cause we will just be getting in from a ride in the Florida Keys May 31st.
Maybe next time.

Will there be room for at least a couple of Albertans?  It's only about 2250 miles for me, if I take the most direct route (doubt it).  My wife thinks the idea of flying to Asheville to avoid the really long riding days works for her.  Might there be a VRCCer or two along the way willing to offer me a bed or piece of floor to sleep on?

Great location!

Majestic riding and cooler weather are the norm. The Blue Ridge Parkway is one of the BEST roads ever made for a cruiser bike. The BRP speed limit for the most part is 45MPH. There are 25 tunnels from North Carolina to Virginia, and no commercial trucks allowed... Utopia!

The Biltmore Estate in Asheville and a Harrah's casino in Cherokee, can all be a daily ride excursion from ground zero too. The infamous "Tail of the Dragon" ride also nearby. You could plan a TAIL ride rolling in or out of Inzane. Try 318 hilly turns in 11 miles.

If you like getting a little wet, there is family friendly whitewater rafting an hour away.

Another day trip... just 5 miles off the majestic Blue Ridge Parkway is the WHEELS THROUGH TIME museum in Maggie Valley. The "Smithsonian of Motorcycles". 320 of the rarest motorcycles in American history are all in running condition here. A national treasure of vintage bikes. The owner Dale Walksler, hosts the TV series... "What's In The Barn" on the Velocity Channel.

 Twila and I are making plans to make this trip. It is too far for Twila to ride. Her aunt and uncle live in Lutrel TN. The plan is to trailer to their house. Stay there for a couple of days. Ride down to Ashville for the Inzane. Ride back up to Lutrel and then home. I was thinking of picking up the BRP in Cherokee and ride to Ashville on the way down.

Can anyone tell me the miles from Cherokee to Ashville on the BRP?????

If you're passing through Southern New York, I got a bed and meals for you!  The Carribean Queen (my Mrs.) will be flying to Asheville as well.  It's just better for everyone.  Not that she'd ever complain (I'm so lucky), but two up for 700 miles isn't fun for either one of us.

Pete, Start thinking about leaving 06/07 and heading for Lexington KY. I will be working on getting a group from here leaving the same day and we can all stay overnight in Lexington. Then ride in to Ashville on Sunday 06/08. Might be something to do with the IL and OH chapters....

According to Google Maps, a stop at your place only adds 892 miles one way to my trip!  I still have to figure out how much it will cost to fly my wife there on her way to Asheville, but I'm sure I can swing it.  This Friday's Lotto Max is $50M, and while I'll admit it figures out a little less in US$, I won't have to pay taxes on my win like you folks in the US of A do.

2 hours would be a very safe ride. The Blue Ridge Parkway speed limit is 45mph. No commercial trucks permitted. Traffic is not an issue, you just have to contend with tourists pulling in or out of overlook areas. The most number of tunnels are on the Cherokee to Asheville segment of the BRP.
