Glbal warming is all hype. Believe what you want but this planet will always correct itself. Over time, holes in the ozone open and close, polar caps melt and new ice formed. Its all cyclical.
If you truly believe there really is such a thing as global warming, then you also will get free insurance thru the aca and live happily and comfortably in your effortless life.

Good luck with that.....

You are absolutely correct.  The earth will "correct" itself.  Whether or not humans will be included in the "corrected" earth is another question entirely.

Hey Britman... if you can demonstrate an ability to absorb a more detailed explanation, I'd be happy to provide it to you... just seems that you have such a knee jerk response with respect to climate change that words of more than one syllable seem inappropriate.  And, you know, with words like "climate" and "warming' having two syllables (and other related words have even more), perhaps a foundation course for you would be appropriate before we discuss the details of global warming and the effects it has upon the planet.  Let me know.

As far as I can tell, the actual source was a Forbes magazine analysis of NASA data, at least that what it appeared to be from the excerpt, and Forbes has a long-standing vested interest in maintaining the status quo.

I agree, fossil fuel production already has a standing infrastructure, making energy from renewable sources a very expensive proposition. However, the big money in energy production has been fighting the push toward renewable energy since the whole idea first came about back in the 60s, and 50 years later we are scarcely any closer to being able to move away from fossil fuels and the economic disruption of any meaningful effort will be far more debilitating, thus ensuring further inaction.

It's true that there is still some disagreement over climate change and what is causing the current extremes in weather around the world but more and more the smart money is being placed on climate change due to human activity that is accelerating the pace of global warming. Unfortunately, the big money is still behind fossil fuels, and there is a growing concern in some quarters that it is already to late to avoid climatic catastrophe.

I know I won't change anyone's mind here and it doesn't matter. If those who think like WayneH and myself are right there is probably no upside so I doubt we'll be celebrating if we "win." If those who believe it's all a hoax are right then there may be some political upheaval to contend with but at least our grandchildren will have a future and I think that is certainly something to celebrate.

So here's hoping you are right and I mean that with all sincerity. This is one argument I truly do not want to be on the winning side of.

I guess my question is how is the uneducated population aware that global warming is a farce and A government is not? OH wait, O never knew about Benghazi or the tax scandal or the rest so now that makes perfect sense. While some boo hoo conspiracy theories its really amazing that in the results of the search are the very ones that are the ones in question from these theories. I guess its just coincidence.

98 percent of climate scientists believe their data points to global warming.  Why do you think the 2 percent are correct?

Regardless of the NASA article:

a)  Temperatures are rising, and at a rate much faster than almost any point in history.
b)  Carbon dioxide levels are far higher than at any point in the last 800,000 years and continue to rise rapidly.
c)  Sea levels are rising, again, rapidly... 50 to 100 years to inundate low lying areas like most of Bangladesh, and the Louisiana coastal areas.
d)  Ice at the polar caps and in the glaciers is disappearing at an unprecedented rate.

To say that global warming is not real is to willfully ignore the facts that are present in many, many different sciences.

A. Wrong, look at historical facts.
B. Wrong,           "
C. Wrong, at least not where I hang around. Been hanging around the beaches in the northeast and south Florida for 6 decades and they haven't moved. Some shorelines in my home area of the great lakes have moved, but, not since the glaciers receded.
D. Try to convince a certain 75 people of that.

Climate will change, I'll say it again, thats its job, it has to do it. Temp changes are part of that. Look it up.

Your not going to change your mind regardless of what the facts show. And , you're not about to change my mind. I'm looking forward to you buying me a beer.

You say, "wrong, wrong, wrong" but have nothing to back up you assertions.  Fact is temperatures are rising.  Fact is, carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is increasing.  Fact is that polar ice sheets and glaciers are decreasing.  Fact is that ocean levels are rising.  You could Google this information but then again it would put you into a state of serious cognitive dissonance as facts would seriously collide with your preconceived and unsupported positions.

"Hanging around a beach" isn't science, it's useless empirical evidence.   Looking at images readily available on the internet... glaciers, ice caps, iceberg calving, shows physical evidence of what is happening.

And if you could actually drag yourself into the science instead of listening to turds like Rush, you might actually learn something.

You are wrong on this, and history will prove it to be true.  Unfortunately, as a result of inaction on global warming, we are faced with large outburst of violence due to large numbers of people whose already sustenance living will be obliterated by the effects of global warming.  It's already happening in the sub_Sahara... it's already happening in South Asia... and it is only going to grow.

Again, show me some evidence that global warming is not occurring.  Not the 2 percent that rail against global warming... something that explains what is happening now.

Here you go, WayneH:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2217286/Global-warming-stopped-16-years-ago-reveals-Met-Office-report-quietly-released--chart-prove-it.html

Chart shows cooling trend for the last 15 years, approx. the same time frame that showed global warming, 1980 to mid 90's.  Before that, temps were flat or cooling slightly.

I understand that your first response will be to say MY sources are no good, and yours are good. There are MANY more links on google, but I am NOT going to post them all.  I am sure you will say ALL of them are no good anyway.

We have been fleeced of money by global elitists and false science why wouldn't we be suspicious? What really drives this global warming hype maybe its just the same as ethanol. One solution is to just plant more trees or make equipment that will change CO2 to O2? CO2 naturally occurring ozone is also naturally occurring and they want to control a naturally occurring gas and contribute it to anything that is man made to get financing to dubious purposes. Sounds like a good movie plot but its real life. It will cost us less we dont have to worry and we can explore and design alternative energy sources at a more prudent pace that will allow studies to be done to determine the good true investments rather than companies like Solyndra.
http://www.dividedstates.com/list-of-failed-obama-green-energy-solar-companies/

This is the global elite's goals. How is it that the tree huggers and green policy falls in line with these recommendations? Taken from the Georgia guide stones.

Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature.
Guide reproduction wisely — improving fitness and diversity.
Unite humanity with a living new language.
Rule passion — faith — tradition — and all things with tempered reason.
Protect people and nations with fair laws and just courts.
Let all nations rule internally resolving external disputes in a world court.
Avoid petty laws and useless officials.
Balance personal rights with social duties.
Prize truth — beauty — love — seeking harmony with the infinite.
Be not a cancer on the earth — Leave room for nature — Leave room for nature.

Tree huggers and science cannot stand that we are not the authors of our fate and want to put themselves in a position of God. We have made laws based on scientific opinions and peoples lives have been changed and damaged. Just like the ozone was a real problem now its not and they dont even know why. CO2 naturally occurring, ozone is also naturally occurring and they want to control a naturally occurring gas and contribute it to anything that is man made to get financing to dubious purposes

The Higgs Boson was, the God particle. Well they believe they found it and it only cost trillions dollars and did not answer the questions of how do things have mass or the creation of the universe and actually made more questions than answers. Another in the long line of missed hype that science is responsible for. Science is good in the right context but dangerous when man asserts things that are not true and laws are made to change peoples lives only to find its not true. Oh wait that sounds so much like the what the liberals say about religion.

Evolution we were decedents of apes specifically neanderthal,  well now DNA has proved otherwise

Evolution in it self is having some real credibility issues

I dont have to tell all here about medicine, eating habits, and any number of things that change on a daily basis on what is good and bad for us. But its a fact till it isn't.

God is the author and finisher of our lives and world. He said be fruitful and multiply the globalists say we cant do that life cannot be supported with to many people. God created man globalists say it was evolution, God says dont worry your time is in my hands and I have made all things to help and support man. Globalists say CO2 that is naturally occurring and ozone naturally occurring gases are bad and they want to control them by spending trillions of dollars. Sounds pretty contrary to the Bible and what God says to me. I put my money on God.

Incorrectly written (typed) but I assume English is not your primary language.

It's popularly quoted, but simply not as often true as implied.  One can find instances in which it seems to have been the case.  One needs only go as far back as the American war between the States to realize that the losing side has oftimes contributed to the written history.

There are two arguments to be carried on regarding alleged global warming.  One is whether it is happening.  The other is whether the activity of mankind is actually responsible for it.  The second is certainly more important but almost never addressed and doesn't matter at all if the first isn't true.

Incidentally, if humanity is eliminated who will write the history?   ;)

History is unreliable ? It certainly is, in some/many respects. I enjoy finding the real history of most things. So, did I use the wrong term ? People have been recording weather conditions for centuries. To me thats history. Maybe I'm wrong to think that. People have been studying core samples going back thousands of years. To me thats history. Again maybe I'm wrong to think thats history. I just happen to think that those results are the facts, the facts that show weather changes. That fact that weather was worse at times, better at times, colder at times and warmer at times. So I guess we'll have to sit back and see who wins this war.

Good questions, Paxton.  Excellent mental exercise.

I've no problem with my incident being in God's will.  My wife tells me it was an accident.  I can't confirm whether it was accidental or intentional as I have no reliable memory of the actual event.

I'm thankful for what occurred.  It is a large part of the history of my life that has made me the man I am today and looking at the results of the incident reveals that I was blessed with special protection during and after.  I hit the pavement at something near or over eighty miles per hour.  The first trooper on the scene said of his care, "He kept wanting to turn over but I was afraid he would drown in the blood."

I'm missing about two and a half weeks of my life following the incident.  I sometimes tell my loving wife that the man who occupied this body before died at the scene and I was sent to fulfill some remaining purpose.  I often fear accomplishing anything significant for concern that it might be the one thing I was left around to accomplish.

I don't know everything, but I'm pretty sure that if God screwed up big time He wouldn't be God.

The written story of the Planet of the Apes supposes that the apes wrote and read history after the human race had failed.   :)   I sat one day and watched the eyes of a sitting gorilla at the zoo.  It was obvious there was thought moving in his head.  I wonder sometimes in the grand scheme of things how much difference there is between my intellect and that of the caged gorilla.

Heal well, Paxton.  Some of us have reason to be grateful for our blatantly evident second chances.   ;)

I don't know everything, but I'm pretty sure that if God screwed up big time He wouldn't be God.

Serk, this is for you buddy.

I think we've managed to prove that you can cite a source saying global warming is a hoax, I can cite a source saying global warming is a looming catastrophe, you say potato, I say potahto, ad infinitum.

I wonder how much validity there might be to the idea that our beliefs are more dependent upon what tribe we belong to than careful research (i.e. we believe what we believe because somebody we believe in says it's true).
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/wp/2014/01/10/the-depressing-psychological-theory-that-explains-washington/

I would think it would become tiresome having the only voice of reason and wisdom in the wilderness that is driven to point out the deficiencies in all other thought processes.

Yes, it can be a burden, but one does the best one can regardless of circumstance. It's what separates us from the animals.

Well...that, and thumbs. Whether it was evolution, chance, Yahweh, or FSM (bless His noodly appendage) that provided humans with the means to rape, kill, pillage, and screw our way to the top of the food chain it's really a toss-up as to what gives us a true advantage on a day-to-day basis; intellect or thumbs.

I vote for thumbs.  ;D

Serk

Since humans are not the only animals with thumbs ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thumb ) my vote is for FSM, as I too have been touched by his noodly appendage.

R'Amen, Brother, R'Amen.

And about that thumbs thing...members of the primate class may beat each other to death with rocks, but no one ever worries about them accidentally (or on purpose for that matter) starting a war that could engulf the whole world, so my vote for thumbs over intellect still stands.

FSM ?  Hmmm, what does the Fort Smith airport or the Flying Spaghetti Monster have to do with this ? ;D

The Fort Smith Airport? Nothing, as far as I know. The Flying Spaghetti Monster? Maybe nothing or maybe everything. It all depends upon what one believes. Unless, of course, what one believes makes no difference at all. Then it doesn't matter.

What, you're saying you took MY response seriously?
Here, have an emoticon.  :2funny:

No. Really, here.  :2funny:

And careful with those airport comments. Wars have been fought over whose airport is better, more just, and the One True Airport. Just sayin'.

Okay Serk, but don't be taking this religion thing too seriously or I'll have to smite thee with all the authority vested in me as an ordained minister of the FSM (complete with letter to show any questioning legal authorities that I am indeed a legally ordained minister of a legally recognized religion-praise to his noodly appendage-so STFU and say I do and last one to the spaghetti buffet is a meatball).

However, as my status of ordained minister has vested me with no authority whatsoever (other than the authority to frame my suitable for framing ordination certificate to hang in my very own closet) someone with more authority than me will have to smite you. Or order you smitten. Or something.
