Tsukayu Strong Saddlebags Mounted

Hi, First post.

Finally got my Tsukayu strong bags mounted. Screwed around way too much trying to get them close as possible to the fender. Made an aluminum 1/4" spacer plate between the brackets and the bags to bring them out a touch so they don't hit the mounting bolts up top.

It could be my placement, but the lids do hit the seat. They still open plenty, about 80 degrees to the vertical, but not all the way. Spacing the bags out further would of allowed a full open but I wanted them closer to the fender for looks.

Isn't it fun getting the holes drilled where you think they should be? I screwed around for an hour or so on each bag trying to get them where I thought they worked with the lines of the bike and were level. That was on my first Valk. Wasn't big on the flimsy lids but they worked and looked nice. Welcome, and if you put an Ultimate seat on they will hit even more.

I cut the head casing for a door to the wrong measurement yesterday. I wasn't surprised, though. If
I had to fabricate the mount for some nice bags, the bags would end up looking like
Charlie Brown's halloween costume...



I like the way OEM bag lids hit an Ultimate seat, it holds the lids up.

Getting them perfectly straight was quite a challenge. A couple holes got bigger and bigger till it fit. 

I just hope they stay put. Can't test ride it for another month or so. Too much snow here. I might fab up a "u" bracket to connect the two at the bottom so they would have less of a tendency to shake on hard bumps. Probably not necessary but I tend to overbuild things.

I've ridden behind people whose bags were floppy on bumps. Can't be good... we rode
down one of those cobblestone streets in Savannah... I was sure my fenders were going to
fall off...

My bone stock I/S bags the bag frame is connected under the fender. 4 small bolts hold each bag on. The I/S bags lids lift up pull them towards you and hang lid on saddle bag. And-YUPPERS-yer bags be lookin good!!  RIDE SAFE.

Looks awesome. Always been a fan of the Tsukayu bags for anything other than OEM.

My question.... what length are your exhaust stacks. I am looking for that exact size. Where did you get them?

Also noticed that you have a County "77" sticker on your license plate. Summit County eh?

I am over in Trumbull County and there are many riders that get together regularly from Akron, Mentor, Youngstown, etc.

Ptgb... The stacks are from Airflow. They are 18" x 4" diameter. You just have to drill the 3 holes. http://store.airflo.com/af40-418hs.html

I have tips for them coming in a week or two. Cant wait.

And yup I'm from Akron. We should meet up when it warms up. Always fun to meet another valk rider.

Check the sight paid tithing, they have a curved bar already chromed to brace the bottom of the bags. Good luck. They look good on the bike. Welcome to the madness.
