Well said BF that's exactly what I was thinking.  President Hussain  should be Impeached, and he should be tried for Treason.  I have absolutely NO respect for this WORTHLESS Non american .   And anyone and  I mean anyone who likes or believes this idiot is, well an IDIOT  :uglystupid2:.   This is (was) the" UNITED" States of America but Hussain has triumphantly divided us for the good of his agenda,  socialism.   He followed his instructions from his Idol Saul Alinski very well.

What would you guys like Obama to do about the current situation in Ukraine?  You disagree with his public statements on the matter.  What do you want him to do, declare war on Russia?  You want to send our boys over there?  I'm curious to hear what you want the US government to say and do about the situation in Ukraine.

Aside from your typical daily whining and crying about Obama, can you, or any conservative actually come up with a plan about how to handle anything at all?  The Republican Party is a rudderless ship of crybabies.

Please answer your own questions for our enlightenment.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/03/01/putin-russian-troops-crimea_n_4880076.html

From that article, this says it all......Putin is rubbin' Obama's nose in it and could care less what Obama thinks.....

"Ignoring President Barack Obama's warning Friday that "there will be costs" if Russia intervenes militarily, Putin sharply raised the stakes in the conflict over Ukraine's future evoking memories of Cold War brinkmanship."

"A statement from the Kremlin said Putin emphasized to Obama the existence of "real threats" to the life and health of Russian citizens and compatriots who are in Ukrainian territory. The statement indicated that Russia might send its troops not only to the Crimea but also to predominantly ethnic Russian regions of eastern Ukraine."

It may not matter whether Hillary is elected in 2016, or who is, or for that matter who is president now. I'm beginning to think that isn't merely a pissing contest. The Soviet Union may have collapsed under its own weight rather abruptly in 1989 but that doesn't mean there isn't a nationalistic urge to return to the "glory days" when the USSR ruled the roost in the Warsaw Pact and schoolchildren practiced hiding under their desks for the day when "the big one" hit.

At various times in history there have been leaders in various countries who were willing to take the world to the brink of destruction (and perhaps beyond) to see their ambitions become reality. So far, none of them managed to put together the means to take that scenario to its furthest, and most horrifying, conclusion.

If Putin turns out to be one of those types of leaders it could be a bad thing on an unprecedented scale in the history of bad things because he does have the means.

President Obama may have made some missteps going into this thing. I suspect he did but I think it's possible that there is no right way to deal with this and maybe there never was. I can be argued that a different president may have taken actions that would have kept this from ever reaching this point but there is no way to know. I suspect that the years between 9-11 and Obama taking office for his first term left this country economically devastated, sick of war, and so politically divided that Putin is able to exploit an opportunity that would exist regardless of who is in charge over here.

If all of this is the case then we may be watching something that can spin out of control very quickly. I realize that there are a lot of people who are going to believe that Obama is screwing up simply because he is Obama and they don't like him. That is certainly their prerogative. But at this point there is a real vacuum of ideas about how to handle it differently. I think there is a real danger that economic sanctions won't matter and moving troops into the area will only start a war. A real big war that nobody can or will win.

Just for the record, I don't think he is handling this situation well at all, but I'll be cursed if I can come up with any different course of action that would do anything but make it escalate more quickly. I sure hope I'm wrong.

Since it's been asked... At this point, there's not a damn thing Obama can do to fix the current situation, just as there wasn't a damn thing Neville Chamberlin could have done to stop WWII after his infamous "Peace in our Time" concession speech to Hitler in September 1938.

Obama has spent the last 5 years showing such extreme weakness, appeasement, even traveling the world apologizing for America being America that at this point, I'd be surprise if anyone took us seriously at all.

No, what Obama could do differently at this point would involve a time machine back to the beginning of his reign and have things handled very differently.

The safety hope for a successful way through the current situation as I see it is to remove ole Neville the Appeaser Obama from office as fast as possible and get a real leader in his place that can start to rebuild our military abilities before they're sliced too far. Someone who can stans up to the KGB bully and stare them down.

But no, as far as "What would you want Obama to do RIGHT NOW to fix this issue" there really only is a single thing he could do.

He could resign, and hope that a greater man, whom the rest of the world respsects (And yes, fear is often a part of respect) would be his successor.

Him staying in power gives us no hope for a long term peace.

Never ask a geek 'Why?',just nod your head and slowly back away...

MOMMY-the ruskies won't play nice with me and I can't get my way WHAT do I do? as he sits in the corner sucking his thumb and wondering who gonna change his diaper. Yeah-got us a real world class leader!  :uglystupid2: And NO I don't have the answer for the current situation. One thing I do KNOW-we do not need to put American boots on the ground over there. Even if we had a much better P O T U S NOT the guy that's there-the situation would have spiraled to where it's at now. Kenny Rogers song applies here-gotta know when to held em gotta know when to walk away gotta know when to run. Don't want crap fer brains writing a check our armed forces may not be able to cash. In my opinion, this is a problem we have never been in any position to effect for good. Regardless of who is the president. My total disrespect for out current administration only underlines my belief that we should stay the hell away. The Crimea is majority Russian and is of strategic and tactical importance to Russia. They have enjoyed an autonomous government that is being undermined by the new Ukrainian leaders. What would you expect Putin to do?
I suggest, if we were in their situation, we would act accordingly.
Would it be better for us from a geopolitical standpoint if The Ukraine was aligned with the west? Of course. Unfortunately, the mistakes we made that allowed Putin and his thugs to take control of post soviet Russia, happened long, long ago. Now we must live with the consequences. Lets just hope our third rate leader doesn't cost us any more American lives.

I suppose we could make an empty claim that there are WMD's over there, as an excuse to get involved militarily.  Oh, wait...we tried that, and after the loss of too many young men and women, we decided that was not such a good idea.  Maybe erring on the side of caution is the smarter thing in this instance.

I concur.....At this point in time, as weak as he has made us. The Obozanator just needs to keep his whiney mouth shut. On this and everthing else for the rest of his term. He is a lame duck in "O" so many ways.

In general, Obama has shown a lack of knowledge and ability in foreign affairs.  i'm not sure if anything can be done now but the worlds leader's perception of his weakness has probably precipitated Putin's action.

Right now we need a return to Teddy Roosevelt's thinking, "Speak softly but carry a big stick"

Obama and his administration has done all they can to do just the opposite.   However, they are good at drawing lines in the sand; again, and again, and again.

History fades as some forget that BOTH sides voted for action in Iraq. So whose empty claims do you refer to?

Surely not just the empty claims put forward by the likes of Clinton, Kerry etc.
